SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A man was shot and killed in the Midway District Sunday morning, leading to a standoff in North Park, and a suspect is still on the loose, according to police.San Diego Police responded after receiving reports of a shooting behind a 24 Hour Fitness near Kemper Street and Midway Drive around 11 a.m.After arriving, police found a 27-year-old white man dead at the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A massive water main break in North Park Tuesday morning flooded streets as the neighborhood continues to cope with issues related to the breaks. According to the city, a 30-inch cast iron water main transmission line broke around 6 a.m. on Ray Street at Capps Street. Currently, the City of San Diego is in the process of replacing all cast iron pipes. After that process is complete, the city says it will assess concrete mains. Crews hope to have all cast iron pipes removed by 2023. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A judge is considering placement locations for a sexually violent predator convicted of sexual offenses against children between the ages of 4 and 9.Judge Howard Shore issued a written decision Tuesday that a proposed address on the 15000 block of Adams Drive in Pauma Valley was not suitable for the placement of Joseph Bocklett.A news release from the District Attorney said Judge Shore is considering other potential housing options.Bocklett was convicted of three sexual offenses over a 19-year period involving children between the ages of 4 and 9.He was sentenced in 2000 to a 17-year prison term before being committed to Coalinga State Hospital for treatment.Last year, Bocklett petitioned for the Conditional Release Program for sex offenders. He was granted conditional release to a supervised home. "I can certainly empathize with the feeling that people do not want someone like Mr. Bocklett in their community,'' Shore said during last Friday's hearing. ``I would be shocked if anyone wrote a letter saying, `We can't wait to have him living in our community.' SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A homeless man walking through a church parking lot was viciously mauled by two stray pit bulls early Wednesday morning.The victim was discovered by a passerby at around 1 a.m. outside the New Creation Church located at 3115 Altadena Ave. in the Chollas Creek neighborhood, according to San Diego police.The unidentified victim told 10News that he was walking through the parking lot when he was suddenly attacked by two pit bulls.He says the pit bulls repeatedly bit him in the face, head, and entire body until the dog owner pulled them off. The owner of the dogs did not stay with the victim or check on his status, the victim told 10News.The dogs whereabouts are unknown.Police found a dog harness at the scene and have turned the investigation over to county animal control.The victim was transported to an area hospital with multiple lacerations. His condition is unknown at this time.Police are searching the neighborhood for the owner of the two pit bulls. No description of the dogs or the owner have been issued at this time. 1066

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man is being investigated on suspicion of DUI after driving into a house in San Diego’s Skyline neighborhood early Sunday morning.According to police, the man was driving his 2002 Mercedes Benz on the 6800 block of Madrone Avenue when he drifted off the road, went down an embankment and slammed into a house.The man received serious facial injuries and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.The house had only minor damage. It’s unclear if anyone inside the home was hurt in the crash. 556
