(KGTV) - A car reportedly flew off a freeway in North San Diego County, causing a chain reaction collision.A 20-year-old woman driving a Buick reportedly careened off westbound SR-78 near El Camino Real, through the fence separating the freeway from the Vista Way, and collided head-on with a Ford Thunderbird being driven by a 47-year-old woman traveling eastbound.The collision set off a chain reaction, sideswiping a Nissan van towing a small boat. The boat then came loose from its trailer and flew into the westbound lanes of Vista Way, striking a Toyota Prius, being driven by a 43-year-old man, and a Chrysler 300 being driven by a 95-year-old man.The driver and a male passenger in the Buick both sustained major injuries and were airlifted to Scripps La Jolla hospital. Another male passenger sitting in the back seat of the Buick received minor injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center.The driver of the Thunderbird was slightly injured as well, but not taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.Police are investigating what led to the Buick driving off the freeway, but said they do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have been a factor. 1216

Herring said Antle was indicted for illegally selling lion clubs to Wilson's Wild Animal Park after a months-long investigation by Herring's Animal Law Unit.Herring said Antle and Wilson trafficked lion cubs between Virginia and South Carolina, which led to their indictments.Herring said investigators looked into the relationship between Antle and Wilson's Wild Animal Park owner Keith A. Wilson and found that they trafficked lion cubs between Virginia and South Carolina.That investigation led authorities to seize 119 animals, including tigers, bears, and camels in August 2019 from Wilson's "roadside zoo" in Winchester, Virginia.In Nov. 2019, Wilson and his nephew Christian Dall'Acqua were indicted on 46 counts of animal cruelty. OTAY MESA (CNS) - A pedestrian died Thursday after being struck by a hit- and-run motorist near Brown Field Municipal Airport, authorities reported.The 21-year-old woman was in a crosswalk in the 8200 block of Otay Mesa Road when a westbound silver Nissan Altima struck her about 9:15 a.m., according to San Diego police.The victim, whose name was withheld pending family notification, died at the scene.Following the fatal impact, the motorist continued driving and fled the area to the west, Officer Tony Martinez said.The vehicle is described as a four-door, silver-colored Nissan Altima. It was last seen traveling northbound on Heritage Rd. towards Chula Vista. 674
