Dick's Sporting Goods, the nation's largest sporting goods retailer, will stop selling assault-style weapons like the one used in the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting.The company said it will also raise the minimum age for all gun sales to 21. Dick's will not sell high-capacity magazines that allow shooters to fire far more rounds than traditional weapons without reloading, as well as other accessories used with weapons similar to the AR-15.The Parkland shooter, Nikolas Cruz, bought a gun at Dick's. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three lanes of Interstate 8 closed Friday night after at least one person was killed in a fiery crash near State Route 67. Around 5:30 p.m. a man driving in the fast lane of I-8 lost control and swerved into the center divider before reaching the slow lane and hitting 1997 Wabash 53-foot trailer being towed by a 2013 Kenworth T660, according to California Highway Patrol. Witnesses reported that the Ford was cut off by an unidentified vehicle which merged from the eastbound #2 lane into the #1 (fast lane) lane directly into the Ford’s path of travel. The driver of the Ford made a turning movement to the left and impacted the concrete center divide wall. As a result, the Ford veered back across the eastbound traffic lanes and broadsided the trailer.As the crash happened, the Ford became lodged under the trailer and was dragged for several hundred feet. Investigators said a newer silver four-door sedan ran down the unidentified victim in the intersection of East Chase and Lincoln Ave. about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6. A witness started CPR on the 58-year-old man but he died of his injuries after he was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital. (KGTV) — El Cajon Police are warning residents of a recent string of street robberies that have occurred over the past several weeks.Police said the victims have been described as elderly men and have been physically assaulted from behind by a lone suspect. None of the victims report seeing a weapon, but have been robbed while walking on public sidewalks in the areas of the 1000 block of East Main Street and the 800 block of Buena Terrace.The suspect in each case varies, but has been described as either an African American, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern male within the ages of 20 to 40 years old. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A former El Cajon high school teacher is in custody on suspicion of sexually assaulting five young victims and attempting to lure a sixth, including two students, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said Friday.38-year-old Dustin Sniff, also known as Dustin Stevens, is suspected of multiple counts of assaulting a minor, deputies said. Charges include rape by force/fear and oral copulation by force.The alleged victims were between 16 and 22 years old. Sniff is a former teacher at Christian High School, a private evangelical school in El Cajon. None of the assaults happened on campus, according to investigators.A student told 10News Sniff taught Film and Bible classes, and was well liked. The student said Sniff abruptly left the school about two years ago, around the time of the last reported incident.Some of the victims knew Sniff from a website called Model Mayhem, deputies said in a news release.Deputies said anyone who may be a victim of a similar crime or has information about the cases should call the Sheriff's Sex Assault Unit at 858-285-6222. 1106
