(KGTV) -- Foot Locker is helping voters get a leg up this election year.The athletic retailer is partnering with the nonprofit Rock the Vote to turn all of its U.S. stores into temporary voter registration sites.Beginning Sept. 22, Foot Locker will have registration kiosks with a website where visitors can check their voter status, register to vote or sign up for election reminders.The company has more than 2,000 stores in the U.S., including seven locations in San Diego County.Foot Locker says the initiative is targeted at the more than 4 million young Americans eligible to vote this year. (KGTV) - A San Diego homeless advocate known as “Waterman Dave” died Monday after a long battle with brain cancer.David Ross, 83, was known for using his own Social Security income to buy water for the homeless. He also found sponsors for portable restrooms. In 2010, Ross filed a lawsuit against a San Diego Police officer who Ross said assaulted him while he was handing out water in East Village. Ross said he suffered a concussion and torn rotator cuff. No criminal charges were filed against the officer.RELATED: No charges filed against officer accused of abusing 'Waterman'Ross' friends did not reveal his cause of death.
