Officials are urging residents of Texas' capital city to cut water consumption by at least 15 percent so water treatment plants can catch up with demand as historic flooding continues to muck up lakes that supply the region's tap water."Immediate action is needed to avoid running out of water," Austin leaders said Monday in a statement. OCEANSIDE, Calif (KGTV) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck on Interstate 5 near Mission Avenue early Thursday morning.According to California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was standing in the middle of the southbound lanes around 2:30 a.m. when they were hit. Deputies say the victim was killed instantly.The semi-truck driver did stay at the scene.Deputies are investigating why the victim was in the middle of the freeway. 452
