SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - As the San Diego Padres reopened training camp - this time at Petco Park - a Padres fan is hoping to share one of the only seats in town for baseball.For the past eight years, Chip Messenger has leased a unit on the 15th floor in the Legend building, overlooking Petco Park."The view never disappoints. Everyone is always amazed," said Messenger.The view is about to become even more priceless because the Padres aren't expected to open up the stadium to fans when they start the season later this month. Messenger will have one of the only seats in town to watch live baseball."Looking for forward to it. I think people have been isolated and bored. Ready for something positive to happen," said Messenger.In late June, Messenger tweeted a photo of his view of Petco Park, sparking thousands of likes and hundreds of replies."They tell me, 'I'll bring the beer. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — County health officials say they are taking aggressive measures to contain a flu outbreak at San Diego's migrant shelter. At least 16 migrants have shown flu-like symptoms; all were recently flown to San Diego from Texas by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement.Three migrants tested positive with a rapid influenza test."In order to take steps to prevent the spread of the disease we've become more aggressive in treating everyone with symptoms, regardless of when those symptoms started," said Dr. Dean Sidelinger, Deputy Public Health Officer for the County.RELATED: Flu outbreak sickens over 30 migrants at border centerBefore being admitted to the shelter, migrants undergo medical screenings.Migrants with flu-like symptoms are being isolated off-site in hotel rooms, along with their family members who are receiving preventative medicine.On Thursday, County Supervisors Dianne Jacob and Nathan Fletcher expressed their continued frustration with the federal government's handling of the migrant crisis. "Had we not taken these steps these migrant families would have been released by ICE at bus stops or transit centers without the medical screenings, without the treatment, without the attention, and without the help and support that we have provided. This could have proved disastrous for our region," said Fletcher. Fletcher says while they don't know how many people may develop flu-like symptoms in the days and weeks ahead, they are actively monitoring the population. According to Transparent California, Gómez made more than ,000 that year from her job as a San Diego City Council member and an additional ,000.University of San Diego professor of law Ariel Jurow Kleiman specializes in federal tax law. ABC 10News reporter Adam Racusin asked her to look at the filing."There was a zero on the line where you would normally report your wages," Kleiman said.Discrepancies in Gómez's tax returns were first reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune.The numbers on Gómez's 2018 return also don't match the dollar amounts reported on a financial disclosure report for Congressional candidates.In a statement, Gómez says her accountant made the errors, but that she has filed a corrected return and paid back the taxes."You may have seen a story about my accountant’s errors on my taxes. Like most people, I trusted my accountant to file my taxes accurately and I was shocked to find out that my 2017 returns were not properly filed. My accountant has taken responsibility for the errors.
