As mandatory face coverings become more and more common, keep in mind, some are better at protecting from viruses than others.When issuing their face covering guidelines, San Francisco specifically called out masks with one-way valves designed for “easier breathing”, warning that they allow for droplets to get out of the mask and potentially endanger others nearby. These valves are usually about the size of a coin on the side of the mask.The CDC, and many other health departments and officials, urge wearing a mask to prevent the spread of the coronavirus because it can be spread through respiratory droplets. (AP) — A Los Angeles police detective has been charged with secretly videotaping dozens of men inside a restroom at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.The Anaheim city attorney's office says 42-year-old Ryan Caplette was charged Friday with 75 misdemeanor counts.Prosecutors allege that Caplette was the man seen videotaping inside a stadium bathroom on June 8. He was off-duty at the time. Caplette was released after being placed under a citizen's arrest.Prosecutors allege that Caplette videotaped at least 37 people that day.Caplette is charged with disorderly conduct that includes peeping with intent to invade privacy, secretly videotaping in a restroom and loitering.Caplette couldn't immediately be reached for comment. He has a court appearance scheduled for July 22.An LAPD spokesman says Caplette has been assigned to paid home duty. 859

(CNS) - A massive brawl broke out Wednesday at the new Cambria Hotel & Suites in Anaheim involving as many as 100 people, police said.Two people were arrested and two people were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening laceration injuries, Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer told City News Service. One victim is a boy and the other is a woman, he said.Officers were sent to the hotel at 101 E. Katella Ave., a couple blocks from Disneyland, at about 12:40 p.m. They found about 40 people fighting outside the hotel in the parking lot of the main entrance and up to 60 more fighting inside the lobby, Carringer said.The hotel was placed on lockdown while officers determined whether anyone needed further medical assistance. Ten Orange County sheriff's deputies were called to help sort out the crowd, Carringer said.Police said the situation was cleared at about 3 p.m., but the investigation into what caused the violence was ongoing.Two people were arrested for fighting in public, said Carringer, who added that it appeared the melee involved multiple patrons at the hotel and was not confined to one group of people.Carringer told the OC Register that the fight involved "men and women, adults and juveniles," adding that "it sounds like people had broomsticks and whatever objects they could find in the hotel."The sergeant told CNS that it appeared the fight started at the hotel pool and spilled into other areas.
