This might be the mother of all potholes. Officer Clark of the Grand Blanc Township Police Department, who stands at six feet five inches, stood inside a culvert washout in the middle of McWain Road to show how bad the road is. Police are working to get the pothole fixed right away. The road is closed while construction is done. 353

Though President Donald Trump remains hospitalized with a COVID-19 infection, it didn't stop him Monday morning from sending more than a dozen tweets — most of them in all caps — urging his supporters to vote for him on Election Day.Between 6:30 a.m. ET and 7:30 a.m. ET on Monday morning, Trump tweeted at least 17 times — most of which were completely in capital letters and included a policy position or administration goal followed by the call to "VOTE!"It was the most active the president has been on Twitter since his hospitalization on Friday. Typically a prolific user of Twitter, Trump has tweeted 14 times since he confirmed his COVID-19 diagnosis on Friday, many of those coming as retweets.Trump's tweetstorm comes as the nation is still mostly in the dark regarding his condition. Throughout the weekend, the president's doctors painted a relatively rosy picture regarding Trump's bout with the disease. However, his doctors declined to share when Trump's last negative test was, how high his fever reached and other important vitals. His doctors also reported Sunday multiple instances in which Trump's blood oxygen levels dropped significantly — something that was not mentioned the day before. The doctors' reports also contradict Saturday comments from White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, who called the president's condition on Friday "very concerning" and added that Sunday and Monday would be "critical" in his fight against the virus.Through several photos and videos released by the White House, Trump has attempted to maintain the appearance of wellness. Despite his infection with a highly contagious disease, Trump left the hospital briefly on Sunday for a ride in a Secret Service vehicle in front of the hospital to wave to his supporters. 1780

TOWSON, Maryland — A Maryland pharmacist pleaded guilty to trading pain medication for sexual acts.Richard Daniel Hiller, of Owings Mills, Maryland appeared in court Friday when his plea was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Robert K. Hur; Chief Terrence B. Sheridan of the Baltimore County Police Department and other law enforcement officials. “Abuse of oxycodone and other pharmaceutical drugs is one of our most significant drug enforcement challenges," said U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur. "Those who divert pharmaceutical drugs for illegal purposes further the tragic cycle of addiction and the epidemic of opioid overdose deaths.” According to Hiller's plea agreement, he worked as a licensed pharmacist in Towson, Maryland from 2014 to 2017.Hiller admitted to filling fake prescriptions for multiple women if given sexual favors. He would tell the women to come to the pharmacy before opening and have sex with the women before giving the painkillers.Officials say, when trying to cover the false prescriptions he would list fake names. The women were addicted to oxycodone and would resell many of the pills to maintain their addiction.  Over the years, Hiller distributed approximately 20,500 15 milligram oxycodone pills. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for the conspiracy and distribution. His sentencing is scheduled for November 15, 2018, at 10 a.m.  1507

There’s no doubt that this is probably one of the most polarizing election years in history. The tension can cause anxiety. According to the American Psychological Association, two in three adults say this election has been a major source of worry. Now health experts say that stress could also affect our children.Child and adult psychiatrist Dr. Judith Joseph has some advice for parents to help manage their children's anxiety during this time of unrest. She says it starts with communication. When there's a lot of stress in the environment, Dr. Joseph says that also cause the cortisol levels to also go up causing you to lose focus. It's important to talk to your children to find out how they're feeling.Next, use the election as a teaching moment and reassure them they are safe no matter the outcome. Create a project that involves kids learning about the voting process and how government works. Also, limit news exposure. Getting too much screen time can only lead to more anxiety.Furthermore, while creating a large change may be a bit of a stretch, Dr. Joseph urges parents to be honest about what’s happening in the world and focus on empowering our youth by allowing them to give back locally. Finally, encourage kids to keep a journal. Writing will also help them manage sleep and anxiety, further putting them on the right path to getting through these rough times worry free. This story was originally published by Stacy-Ann Gooden at WPIX. 1462

Those “I voted” stickers we see every election season are becoming more commonplace. Now, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) wants to do something similar with the COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC suggested that people receive a sticker that says, “I got my COVID-19 vaccine.”Other groups are also starting similar initiatives.Adam Wiatrowski founded Courage Thru COVID, a group that's trying to raise awareness not only about coronavirus, but also the vaccine. The group created wristbands to give out to folks who have gotten the shot. Their goal is to create positivity.“We’re all in this together, and our goal with the Courage Thru COVID wristband is to give people an opportunity to show their unity and show their support for each other,” said Wiatrowski. The wristbands are a bright, neon green with the words “Courage Thru COVID” printed on them. Right now, only hospitals in Minnesota are getting them, but Wiatrowski hopes to expand the effort across the country. There are questions over whether this would really encourage people to get vaccinated. Psychology experts say think so, because there’s power in numbers. If we see a lot of people sporting these stickers, we're likely to be motivated enough to get the vaccine. The stickers can also create a sense of belonging.“That sense of belonging does cause us to feel, again, more motivated to belong to that group, to do what those other people around us are doing. But also, to stay true to the norms of that group by trying to convince others that those are the correct actions to take and norms to adopt,” said Robert Cialdini, psychology and marketing professor at Arizona State University.Cialdini is confident the stickers will encourage people to get vaccinated, but he is unsure at this point of how big of a difference they'll make.He adds another thing that could motivate people is seeing celebrities endorse the vaccine. He says the science behind this is simple – people are likely to see something as more appropriate if they see someone they like doing it. 2051
