SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance video from a Clairemont church shows a woman with a gun in one hand and her baby in the other, prosecutors said.The video was played in court Friday as the preliminary hearing started for Anna Conkey.Conkey is accused of walking into Sunday services at Church Tsidkenu in April and making threats while holding her 10-month-old son.Pastor Benjamin Wisan testified Conkey pointed the gun at parishioners and her own baby. Wisan was on stage and tried to calm everyone by telling them the weapon was a Taser. A 911 call prosecutors say Conkey made to report herself was played for the jury."Hi, yes, there's a woman at a church and she's saying she's going to blow up the foundation of the church,” said the person in the 911 call. Police later determined the weapon was not loaded. Wisan said Conkey had disrupted services weeks before the incident. He had tried to set up a meeting with her but it did not happen. Conkey pleaded not guilty to several felony counts including child abuse, making criminal threats, and a false report of a bomb. A judge will determined if the case will go to trial. 1312

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance video shows burglars ransacking a Pacific Beach brewpub hit hard by the pandemic.Just past 6 p.m Thursday, while food and craft beer were being served up at the second-story Amplified Ale Works restaurant, a masked man was recorded while inside the first-floor office and shuttered music venue.A mangled door revealed the intruder's entry point."Looks like he used a crowbar on the back door," said owner Alex Pierson.Inside, he's seen rummaging through drawers, grabbing headphones and some other items before leaving. Pierson says the burglar returned hours later, and he wasn't alone."When they came back at 10:30 p.m., they ransacked everything," said Pierson.For some 40 minutes, three men are seen helping themselves to whatever they wanted, filling up box after box.In one clip, one of the thieves is seen sorting through paperwork. Several blank checks were found missing."It's that feeling of violation. It hurt. Also took several employees' bikes, several guitars, amps, eight cases of beer, merchandise and some other electronics," said Pierson.For Pierson, the burglary is beyond disheartening."We're doing everything we can to keep our employees employed ... a 'being kicked while you're down' feeling," said Pierson.Pierson says the impact of the pandemic has cut revenues for the eight-year-old brewpub in half. The loss from the theft is more than ,000."In the end, it's not going to break us, but we're at such a point of breaking, as it is," said Pierson.Pierson fears others have also felt the hurt. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The family of a YouTube star who drove his McLaren the wrong way on the 805 last year, killing a mom and her daughter, are suing the City of San Diego, County of San Diego, and the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT).The lawsuit claims the “horrific and tragic event” was entirely preventable.Eighteen-year-old Trevor Heitmann, known as McSkillet, drove his McLaren the wrong way on the freeway in August 2018, killing Aileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The co-founder and CEO of the Super Dentists said that during the current COVID-19 pandemic, patients have been hesitant to get dental work done."The American Dental Association did a survey, and about 75 to 80 percent of the patients across the country feel comfortable about going back to the dentist. About 15 percent want a vaccine before they go back,” said Dr. Kami Hoss.And while he understands the precautions people are making, Hoss said a recent study indicates dentist offices have shown to be safe."There have been zero cases of COVID related to any dentist offices,” Hoss said.And to further help ease the minds of dental patients, Hoss has just written a book titled, "If Your Mouth Could Talk.""I wanted to know what keeps parents up at night and what their worries are. I did some research, and I had 300 pages of stats on what keeps parents up at night. When I read them, I realized that so many of them could be related back to their mouths, and their kids mouths. So, I decided to write a book about it,” Hoss told ABC 10News.He's a dentist and an author, but that is not all. Hoss has a love of music, so he decided to write and compose songs for the Super Dentists. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The city of San Diego has a long to-do list when it comes to improving their Bridge homeless shelters. On Saturday morning, 300 people moved into the new Alpha Project bridge shelter in East Village, after the facility was flooded on December 6th. But for all of those residents, their stay is temporary. “This exists for one reason. To help people get back onto their feet. To help them get that apartment, and get that job,” Mayor Kevin Faulconer said while pointing at the mended Alpha Project tent.After contaminated flood water inundated the area, the city scrambled for a week to reopen the shelter. For nine days, residents spent their nights at SDCCU stadium. Once the East Village facility was sterilized and fixed, residents were bused back and moved into their bunks Saturday morning. But the city faces several other challenges. According to FEMA, the improved Alpha Project tent housing sits directly on top of a floodplain. Instead of rebuilding on a lower-risk area, the city decided to rehouse 325 residents in the same spot.
