SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Padres Monday released their schedule for the 2020 60-game regular season.According to the Padres, the team will play 40 games against National League West rivals and 30 Interleague games against American League West.The team says it will open the season at home with a four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks starting Opening Day, July 24.RELATED: San Diego Padres player tests positive for coronavirus as team begins Summer Camp at Petco Park“As part of Interleague play in 2020, the Texas Rangers (August 19-20), Houston Astros (August 21-23), Seattle Mariners (August 25-27) and Los Angeles Angels (September 22-23) will all make the trip to America’s Finest City. This will mark just the second appearance at Petco Park for the Astros since joining the American League and the third visit to Petco Park for the Angels,” the team said.“For Interleague road contests, the Padres will visit Texas (August 17-18), Los Angeles (September 1-2), Oakland (September 4-6) and Seattle (September 18-20). SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Three years ago Former San Francisco 49er’s quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand during the National Anthem. It started during the 2016 preseason games. The first three games he sat on the bench and then in a game against the San Diego Chargers, he took his first knee during the National Anthem. On Wednesday, Kaepernick recognized the three year anniversary by taking to his Twitter account saying, “Today marks the three year anniversary of the first time I protested systemic oppression. I continue to work and stand with the people in our fight for liberation.” In October 2017, Kaepernick filed a Collusion Grievance against the NFL and team owners In February 2018, they settled the case. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - There are three year-round homeless tents set up in San Diego. Their long-term future could hinge on budget hearings that began Wednesday at City Hall.Several hundred of our homeless have beds, showers, warmth, a refrigerator for their medicine, and security for awhile. That could end, though.The shelter on Sports Arena Blvd. provides solely for veterans.RELATED: Clairemont residents hope to stop homeless housing projectAnother near Father Joe's Village at 15th and Commercial is open for women and children. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Humane Society launched an investigation into possible animal neglect Monday.  The investigation is focused on the former Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club.The golf course shut down in July.A spokesman with the Humane Society says someone reported that the declining state of one of the ponds on the course was endangering koi and other wildlife.Homeowners living near the course say they often smell a foul stench coming from the pond.The Humane Society says they’ve they’ve reached out to the owner of the country club and golf course.The Humane Society sent 10News a statement that says in part:"Because it is an open investigation, we cannot discuss details, but we take reports like this very seriously. We encourage anyone who has information relevant to this investigation to come forward and call San Diego Humane Society’s Humane Law Enforcement at 619-299-7012." 934
