SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 19-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday morning with nine stab wounds suffered in a fight with another man in the Egger Highlands area of San Diego.Just before midnight Friday, the victim and the suspect got into a shouting match while standing in the doorway of the suspect's house in the 1700 block of Elm Avenue, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.The argument turned physical and the victim thought he was being punched, but it turned out he was being stabbed, Heims said. The victim was stabbed in both arms, the chest and stomach.He was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening wounds, Heims said.Officers responded to the suspect's home and arrested Homero Lunaosuna, 19, and recovered the knife used in the attack, Heims said. 809

Lasater ordered that Van Vleet serve his time in county jail on 35 consecutive three-day weekends, totaling 105 days, with the rest of the time earned through custody credits. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 28-year-old man was behind bars Friday on suspicion of stabbing his girlfriend multiple times inside a Colina Del Sol apartment, police said.Dispatchers received multiple calls shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday from neighbors who reported hearing screaming coming from one of the apartments in a complex on 49th Street just south of El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said.Officers responding to the scene found that a woman had been stabbed multiple times and the suspect had fled, Martinez said.The victim, whose age was not immediately available, was taken to a hospital for treatment of her wounds, which were not believed to be life- threatening, the officer said.Around 10:35 p.m. Thursday, the suspect apparently called 911 and told a dispatcher his location, and that he was going to surrender, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.The 28-year-old man, whose name was not immediately available, was taken into custody around 10:45 p.m. on El Cajon Boulevard near El Cerrito Drive, Martinez said. 1053

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A gun control group has filed a lawsuit on behalf of victims the Poway synagogue shooting against several parties, including the alleged shooter, his parents, the gun store that sold him the weapon used in the deadly shooting and the weapon's manufacturer, Smith & Wesson.The suit filed Monday in San Diego Superior Court alleges `irresponsible and unlawful conduct by a firearms manufacturer and seller for making, marketing, or selling weapons in an unsafe and illegal manner'' in connection with the rifle allegedly used by John T. Earnest, 21, in the April 27, 2019, shooting at Chabad of Poway.The suit filed by the gun control advocacy group Brady United accuses Smith & Wesson of failing to ``use reasonable care'' when marketing the rifle -- a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 -- and alleged the company made the weapon ``easily modifiable,'' which facilitates crimes like mass shootings.The lawsuit also alleges gun store San Diego Guns unlawfully sold Earnest the rifle used in the shooting, as he lacked a valid hunting license to buy such as weapon at his age.The suit also alleges Earnest's parents ``negligently facilitated their son's (the shooter's) ability to gain access to one or more pieces of weaponry/tactical equipment used in the incident, upon information and belief, having prior knowledge of his avowed, virulent anti-Semitism and propensity for violence.''The shooting resulted in the death of 60-year-old Lori Gilbert Kaye, who was shot in the synagogue's foyer. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 24-year-old woman who succumbed to some type of medical emergency -- possibly a drug overdose -- and became gravely ill after being arrested in University City last week died in a hospital today, authorities reported.Aleah Jenkins was pronounced dead at UCSD Medical Center nine days after being taken into custody, according to San Diego police.On the afternoon of Nov. 27, Jenkins was riding in a vehicle that was pulled over in the 3700 block of La Jolla Village Drive, Lt. Matt Dobbs said.After determining that she was the subject of an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for possession of methamphetamine, officers arrested Jenkins. While still at the scene of the traffic stop, Jenkins became ill and vomited."The officers called for paramedics, but (Jenkins) said she had only had an upset stomach, so medics were canceled," Dobbs said.Jenkins was then taken to downtown SDPD headquarters, where, while being processed for booking into county jail, she passed out, according to police."Officers immediately began lifesaving efforts and called for medical assistance," the lieutenant said.Paramedics took over the emergency aid and rushed Jenkins in for hospital care."During the course of the medical intervention, controlled substances were found concealed in (Jenkins') clothing," Dobbs said this afternoon."At this point, there is no indication any force was used on (her)."A cause-of-death ruling will remain on hold pending autopsy results.Police, however, believe that Jenkins may have suffered a drug overdose, according to Dobbs.The officers who conducted the traffic stop during which Jenkins was taken into custody have been identified as Nicholas Casciola and Jason Taub.
