SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Rain runoff has prompted a warning for swimmers, surfers, and beachgoers in San Diego County.As showers move through the area, urban rain runoff may force large amounts of bacteria to wash into coastal waters, including San Diego Bay and Mission Bay, county officials warned Saturday.Any activities in coastal waters should be avoided for 72 hours following rainfall. Depending on the intensity of the storm, elevated bacteria levels could persist.With recent rains also bring a water contact closure for Imperial Beach's shoreline, due to runoff from the Tijuana River. The closure area includes the beach-line from the south end of Seacoast Drive to the International Border.The access road to Friendship Park, within Border Field State Park, may also be affected by river runoff.Signs have been posted warning of the water closure. 861

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Residents of several inland North County communities tell 10News they are fed up with the numerous delays which have led to a series of road improvement projects to take more than two years to complete.The most impactful is the widening of Rancho Bernardo Road between I-15 and Bernardo Center Drive.Work on that stretch began in February of 2017 and was projected to take six to seven months. It's almost a year past that point. Residents say rush hour traffic in the area is traffic, and say that the narrower lanes caused by the road work are a safety hazard.RELATED: Couple warns of loose temporary road markers along Highway 79One woman said she almost hit a person, another said she witnessed an accident, and a man says his car clipped temporary fencing along the project twice.The project is being managed by a private developer who agreed to do the road work as part of the approval for their new housing project five miles away in Black Mountain Ranch.10News confirmed with the City of San Diego and the office of Councilmember Mark Kersey that the developer has missed multiple deadlines. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Congressman Duncan Hunter spoke Tuesday morning to a group of women who support him despite accusations that he and his wife misused campaign funds.“Women Volunteers in Politics” gathered for the speech at the Bali Hai restaurant on Shelter Island. The event was booked months before Rep. Hunter’s indictment.Hunter spoke to 10News before the event.“Leave my wife out of it, leave my family out of it. It’s me they’re after anyway. They’re not after my wife; they want to take me down, that’s what they’re up to. So let’s get this in the arena and have this settled,” said Hunter.Tuesday's statement was a change from Hunter's message the morning after the indictment was announced. When asked about the accusations levied against his wife, Hunter confirmed that she was in charge of campaign expenses but added, “That’ll come out in court. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are investigating an attempted kidnapping after a man reportedly tried to grab a woman holding an infant in La Jolla Wednesday afternoon.Police say the woman was on the 5100 block of La Jolla Hermosa Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when a man walked by and grabbed her arm as she held a 1-year-old.The man then left the area on a bicycle that didn’t have any tires before ditching the bike and running away on foot.The woman, identified as the child’s nanny, received a scratch on her arm, but the baby is uninjured, police say.The suspect was arrested after running into the water and floating. Lifeguards helped police get the man out of the water. Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Michael Hudson. Jail records show Hudson was booked on four counts, including felony kidnapping and battery.Hudson is being held on 0,000 bail. An Oct. 30 date has been scheduled for his arraignment. 935

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 17-year-old boy with several health problems.According to police, Jeremy Jose Sanchez was last seen by his mother at their apartment on Aug. 23 at around 9 p.m. Police did not disclose what part of the city the boy was last seen.The teen suffers from vision damage, loss of hearing, and has active tuberculosis. Police said he takes medications for his conditions, but he left his home without them.Police said Jeremy was reported as a runaway juvenile at risk due to health conditions.The teen is Latino with a tanned complexion, 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighs around 146 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.Jeremy was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, blue jeans, and white, red and black Jordan shoes.Anyone with information on the teen is urged to contact San Diego police at 619-531-2000 or 911. 902
