(KGTV) - Wineries in the East County call themselves "hidden gems," offering San Diegans a chance to get away without having to travel as far as Temecula and other more well known wine producing areas.Granite Lion Cellars in Jamul grows 17 varietals. As they shift operations outside their tasting room, they are taking advantage of being in a wilderness area with a waterfall, trails to explore and picnic tables in the shade.They are family and dog friendly, and have contracted with a number of food trucks to offer food on site, as well as outdoor tastings in a more intimate setting.Miriam Valdez, Granite Lion Cellars' tasting room manager, said, "We are used to telling people about our wines, now we actually have to limit contact." While also struggling to sell more wine, Valdez added, "We are right now maybe 60-70 days out from harvest, and our warehouse is full, so the wine has to go somewhere."Sommelier David Whited said they're offering specials on cases of wine and wine club memberships, in an effort to move inventory.They're also breaking ground on a brand new barrel cave and tasting room in the hope that one day they'll be able to move back indoors.Granite Lion has retained and retrained their staff in order to stay in compliance with all of the sanitation and safety rules.They've also donated wine to the community -- to be turned into hand sanitizer. KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Memorial Day travel may be more difficult in 2018 than it has been in more than a dozen years, according to AAA.The company released its 2018 Memorial Day travel forecast ahead of the holiday known as the informal kickoff to summer.AAA said 2018 will see a near-record number of travelers, with more than 41.5 million people expected to take a trip.That’s nearly 5 percent more than 2017, with an additional 2 million people traveling in planes, trains and cars.According to INRIX, a global transportation analytics company, travel delays could be up to three times longer, becoming especially bad on the Thursday and Friday before the holiday as travelers mix with work-week commuters.Most travelers will take a car to their destination — 36.6 million to be exact. Airlines will see 3.1 million people, and the 1.8 million remaining will take trains, buses and cruise ships.Despite higher gas prices, travelers are still hitting the road. Joe Clyde Daniels' father admitted to killing the 5-year-old, but search crews have not been able to find his body. It may seem like an open and shut case, but officials say a confession may not be enough.Joseph and Krystal Daniels were charged in the case of their autistic, 5-year-old son who went missing. Joseph confessed to beating his son to death. He was charged with homicide and Krystal was later arrested and charged with aggravated child neglect or endangerment.Crews in Dickson County, Tennessee vowed they wouldn't stop searching until the young boy was brought home and laid to rest.A legal battle is looming especially since Joe Clyde Daniel's body still has not been found. It is a simple question sure to be asked by the public defender: without a body can prosecutors even prove that Joe Clyde Daniels is dead?Yes, it's true his father Joseph Daniels is said to have confessed to beating the child to death, but without actually having a body it's not a done deal."Certainly it's a more difficult case if they have nothing to back up the confession," said attorney Jim Todd, who's closely followed the case.He said there certainly could be other evidence, perhaps blood from the scene, cadaver dogs hitting on a scent or even witness testimony potentially from the child's mother."There's a good chance, and this is a guess, the wife is charged as a leverage point on her to get her to roll," said Todd.But then there's this: Daniel's father says he believes prosecutors coerced the confession out of his son.  What happens if he recants his statement and insists he is innocent?"The jury will hear the statement and determine on their own if he was coerced or gave this confession or not," said Todd.That situation would only occur if the case goes to trial, and a trial is a long way off.
