As the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is slated to take place on Dec. 4-5 in South Africa, Zhang said China will work with the AU and other members of the forum to take the opportunity to enhance unity and cooperation between China and Africa.
The environment is a key factor to assess the success of comprehensively building a moderately prosperous society, the vice premier said.
"We will work together to advance East Asian regional cooperation with the trilateral cooperation serving as an engine," the statement said.
He also called on the two countries to break new ground for practical cooperation, and push forward the construction of the third government-to-government project with the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing as an operation center.
