NEW YORK, N.Y. – Peloton has issued a recall for some of its bike pedals due to a laceration hazard.Thursday, that home fitness company said about 54,000 of its PR70P clip-in pedals are being recalled. They’re the first-generation pedals fitted on Peloton bikes sold between July 2013 and May 2016.The company has received at least 120 reports of pedals breaking, including 16 reports of leg injuries, five of which required medical care, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.The Peloton logo and the word "PELOTON" are molded into the pedal body. An orange Peloton symbol and white lettering spelling "PELOTON" are also printed on the top of the cleat binding. They were fitted on bikes that sold for about ,000.Peloton says anyone with these pedals should stop using them immediately and that it’s notifying all affected consumers directly on how to receive free replacement pedals, along with instructions for self-installation.Peloton says its pedals are warranted for one year and all remaining PR70P clip-in pedals in service are out of warranty. Nichole Jolly just confirmed what she feared: her childhood home, where three generations made memories, was now reduced to rubble.“This is where I came back when I was born,” she said through tears. “This is where my babies came back when they were born.”Jolly and her husband, Nick, had come to terms thinking the cat that lived with her mom probably didn’t make it. Jolly said her mom was given such little notice to evacuate, so she left with only the clothes on her back.But as if on cue, a head popped up from the rubble.“Oh my god, Nick!” Jolly cried out.  “That’s our cat! Oh my god.”After a few minutes, they coaxed her out of the rubble. Jolly whispered an apology to little Kit Kat, nestled in her arms. The cat was now much thinner than the last time they saw her and her paws were singed.“I can’t believe she made this! She is a strong kitty. We have a strong family,” Jolly said.“I had to walk through fire too,” she said in Kit Kat’s ear.Jolly did, in fact, walk through fire. In fact, she barely escaped.It was last Thursday when the rapidly-moving fire was spreading through the town of Paradise—now 90 percent destroyed--where Jolly works as a nurse. She helped evacuate the surgical unit patients, putting them in any cars they could find, as gently as possible.And for that, she’s been dubbed a hero. NORFOLK, Va. - The first presidential debate of 2020 was all some voters needed to watch before heading to the polls.“[I] tuned into most of the debate last night, and that really solidified my decision to vote today,” said William Jimenez.But the thought of this year’s election is nerve-wracking for some voters.“Regardless of political persuasion and who you intend to vote for, people across the political spectrum are all experiencing that kind of stress,” said Gary Roftus, the director of Fairfield Psychological Associates.Jimenez says this election is important.“A lot is on the line. A lot is at stake,” he adds.Election stress - according to the American Psychological Association, it’s affecting more than 50% of Americans.Gabrielle Harrell felt the pressure at the polls Wednesday.“It’s been very stressful. As I was filling out the ballot, I was triple-checking to make sure I’m checking the right box,” Harrell said.Roftus says people are already stressed with the coronavirus.“We’ve never had an election where we are told is the most important election ever in the middle of a pandemic,” he adds.As we get closer to November 3, Roftus says politics comes up in his counseling sessions.“Inadvertently or directly because it's bothering them, people are bringing up the election all the time,” he adds.Roftus says the additional voting options are affecting stress levels.“Sometimes some people are uncertain as to where they should vote, whether they should vote by mail, is their ballot going to be accepted?"For people who want to get rid of some of that election stress, voting early is an option.Roftus says it gives some people some comfort and relief.
