Forget about drones and armies of people driving Amazon trucks. One big Wall Street firm thinks Amazon's plan to build up its air freight delivery service may be what really winds up hurting UPS and FedEx.Morgan Stanley analyst Ravi Shanker said in a report Tuesday that both delivery giants could lose 10% of their revenue to Amazon Air by 2025. Shanker cut his price targets on UPS (UPS) and FedEx (FDX) and both stocks plunged more than 6% as a result.It was a particularly gruesome day for transportation stocks due to worries about the broader economy and confusion about the status of US-China trade talks.The Dow Jones Transportation Average, which includes FedEx and UPS as well as leading airlines, truckers and railroads, fell 4.4% -- its worst drop since June 2016.But Shanker paints a picture that should be extremely worrisome to UPS and FedEx.He notes that Amazon (AMZN), which currently is leasing 40 cargo jets, could eventually have 100 planes running and estimates that the planned Amazon Air routes could overlap with more than two-thirds of the volume flown by UPS and FedEx.That's bad news for both companies since Shanker said that UPS and FedEx each generate nearly 20% of their overall revenue from US air deliveries.Amazon has made big investments to bulk up Amazon Air. In the past few years, it has bought stakes in two freight delivery airlines -- Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) and Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings (AAWW).It also announced plans to invest .5 billion in order to build an Amazon Air hub on more than 900 acres of land that it is leasing near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Amazon bought an additional 210 acres earlier this year.There's a simple reason why Amazon will want to handle more of its own air deliveries. According to Shanker, Amazon could save between billion and billion next year. That works out to about 3% to 6% of its global shipping costs.But on a day when the broader market was tanking, investors didn't seem too enthusiastic about Shanker's thoughts on Amazon either. FREEPORT, NY. – Every weekend outside her church, Shelley Brazely sets up her table. Her mission is to make sure anyone in her community who wants to vote, can.“Too many people sacrificed too much in this country for us to vote, and we just want to make sure that every vote counts,” said Brazely, the President of the Social Action Ministry at the Zion Cathedral in Freeport, New York.Brazely said the community’s votes are especially important because the neighborhood has a history of struggling.“Nassau County, which is one of the richest counties in the country, has pockets of poverty and disenfranchisement that is unbelievable,” said Brazely. “Hempstead, Freeport, Roosevelt, we’re considered the black belt, and those are the areas that have the hardest time,” said Brazely.Brazely is fighting this by signing anyone up for an absentee ballot who wants one. She is personally delivering each ballot to the board of elections to make sure each is filled out correctly.“A lot of people are disqualified because there are two envelopes,” explained Brazely. “They don’t check what needs to be checked, and those are disqualified.”It’s a big effort for one person to make, taking dozens of hours per week, but Brazely wants her community to feel comfortable voting, especially because so many people are worried about mailing in their ballots.“There will be no postal office. We won't be dealing at all with that. We will securely pick up the information and drop it off,” said Brazely. “We don't want anybody to feel the hopelessness that a lot of these rumors will cause.”She said the rumors and misinformation about the security of the U.S. Postal Service weigh heavily on those she helps.“I was a little worried to mail it out myself,” said Jerrod Atkinson who is having Brazely drop off his ballot. “I wanted it to go directly to the board of elections, so it wouldn’t get lost.”Odessa Hill is a senior who isn’t able to drive and is filling out an absentee ballot with Brazely. She said this opportunity gives her peace of mind.“Every day, I get a text that the post office might be closed, but I know that this church will cover it,” she said.This church is invested in much more than worship and has been a community staple for more than 90 years.“The church really has always been involved in the real-life drama and struggle of our community,” said Pastor Frank White.Pastor White and Shelley Brazely are teaming up to make sure their community knows they can lean on the church for any help—whether that’s in the pews or at the polls. White said it’s an opportunity to keep hope alive.“Without hope, life fades very quickly…dreams die,” said Pastor White. “I am a prisoner of hope. I can never stop believing, and it becomes my job as well as many other voices to be that trumpet of truth and to be a shining light and to help the downtrodden, and the disenfranchised.”He and Brazely know that togetherness is the first step in keeping hope for change alive.For Brazely, making all the trips to and from the board of elections is just the start of her fight. Former President Barack Obama announced Thursday morning that his new book, "A Promised Land," will be released on Nov. 20."There's no feeling like finishing a book, and I'm proud of this one. Florida is just one step away from living up to its nickname as “The Sunshine State."Florida Governor Rick Scott signed HB 1013 on Friday. The bill would let Florida remain on Daylight Saving Time year round.The "Sunshine Protection Act," would make Florida exempt from the twice-yearly time change.While the rest of the Eastern United States would set their clocks back in the fall, Florida wouldn’t, leaving it with more sunshine in the evening during the winter.
