President George W. Bush gave a tearful eulogy to his father, President George H.W. Bush, Wednesday at a state funeral for the 41st president of the United States.The younger Bush choked up as he quoted his father's inaugural address from 1989."In his inaugural address, the 41st President of the United States said this: 'We cannot hope to only leave our children a bigger car, a bigger bank account,'" Bush said. "'We must hope to give them a sense of what it means to be a loyal friend, a loving parent. A citizen who leaves who home, his neighborhood and his town a better place than when he found it. What do we want the men and women who work with us to say when we are no longer there? RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - California Highway Patrol officers believe drugs or alcohol are likely factors in a crash that injured three people Tuesday near State Route 67 west of Ramona. A truck and two cars collided on Dye Road at Lansdown Lane about 4:30 p.m., the CHP reported. The white Mercedes had been traveling west on Dye Road and speeding when it crossed into oncoming traffic, witnesses told the CHP.The Mercedes clipped a blue Subaru and hit a Toyota Tacoma pickup head-on, officers said.The crash blocked the roadway and sent debris across lanes. Video from Sky10 showed the front end of the Mercedes was missing, and the roof of the truck was sheared off.Cal Fire crews, possibly from the Ramona station two-tenths of a mile away, were seen rescuing a person from a 77-year-old man from the seat of the truck. The men in the Mercedes and the truck suffered major injuries, the CHP confirmed. The woman in the Subaru had minor injuries. Helicopters landed in a nearby field to take patients to the hospital. The CHP announced a closure of the area at 5:16 p.m. Neighbors who live in the area say Dye Road is a dangerous road because no one drives the posted 55 mph speed limit. 1196

President Donald Trump told reporters on Tuesday that he plans on announcing his nomination to replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.It does not appear there will be any drama involving the confirmation of a new justice after Sen. Mitt Romney announced earlier on Tuesday he will not stand in the way of Trump’s nominee. Only two Republican senators - Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine - say they oppose holding a confirmation vote amid an election. With just Murkowski and Collins joining Democrats in opposing a confirmation close to the election, Republicans will likely have 51 votes to confirm Trump’s nominee.On Monday, Trump said he is choosing among five women to nominate to the Supreme Court by the end of the week, and is pushing for the nominee to be confirmed by Election Day.On Tuesday, Trump said he wants to see a full bench of nine justices in place by the election in order to oversee any potential election challenges.While the Supreme Court has given a 5-4 advantage to conservatives for many years, Chief Justice John Roberts has occasionally sided with the four liberal justices on key votes, including challenges on the Affordable Care Act. President Donald Trump's re-election campaign used a photo of a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, shooting in an email Saturday that asks its recipients to donate money to the campaign.The email contains a photo of 17-year-old Madeleine Wilford in a hospital bed surrounded by her family, Trump and the first lady. Ilhan Omar, D-Minnesota, has responded to comments President Donald Trump made at a rally on Tuesday in which he implied that because Omar's is a Somali immigrant that it lessened her status as a lawmaker.Trump made the comments Thursday while attacking the Democratic party's progressive wing, a group that goes by "The Squad.""We're going to win the state of Minnesota because of (Omar), they say," Trump said during a rally in Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
