SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man was arrested after the mother of a three-year-old girl called the San Diego Police and said her daughter was kidnapped and inappropriately touched by her neighbor.Police say the ordeal happened just before 10 a.m. Saturday, on Maple Street near Oak Park Elementary School.Two uncles spoke with 10News off camera, saying they heard their cousin "making a fuss" about her window being broken into, the same bedroom where their niece was taking a nap."He snatched her from the window... Three minutes to ten minutes that she was in there," one uncle said.When the girl was back home, the uncles said she seemed upset and reserved. Once she started talking, and the family had an idea of what may have happened, emotions boiled over."My cousin just went in for the shine like the first shot he made him bleed like I think he cracked his nose," he said his sister pulled them apart, and the man ran off.Blood stains were visible on the concrete outside. "Something had to be wrong with him, for him to balls up and come through a window with like ten people in the house," he said. The family knew the neighbor was mentally ill but did not think to this extent.The toddler and her parents then went to the hospital to get "a rape kit, just make sure everything’s fine, and we don’t exactly know what happened to her she saying that she was touched."The incident happened right across the street from Oak Park Elementary School, where students will come back to class August 28th. The San Diego Police Sex Crimes Unit is investigating the incident. 1635

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local woman says a recent shopping trip turned into a nightmare, in the form of a sexual assault inside a 99 cent store in Clairemont.Around 7 p.m. on Thursday, inside a nearly empty 99 Cents Only store at Clairemont Town Square, Sarah was 30 minutes into a shopping trip. She recalls seeing the same man, as she walked through three different aisles."I didn't think anything of it. Just thought he was shopping for the same items," said Sarah.When Sarah bent down to get some poster board from a shelf, he attacked."He came from behind and forcefully shoved my shoulders into a seated position into his lap, and he had an erect groin," said Sarah.Sarah says she quickly got away from the man, who was fully clothed."I was shocked and gasped. Stood up and turned around, and he backed up. He said, 'Oh, sorry, I thought you were somebody I knew,'" said Sarah.Sarah describes the man as a thin, dark-haired man in his 20s, wearing a black mask and blue-and-white, checkered cap. She raced to find a store employee."I could see he was still stalking me. He was still peeking his head around the corner. When he saw me talking to an employee, he took off," said Sarah.She called the police and waited outside the front door to get a photo of him, but he never appeared. He likely got out a side door."I feel very violated. Just very violating," said Sarah.A day later, there is a growing fear and anxiety. After she posted details on the Nextdoor site, neighbors reported four recent and similar incidents at grocery and drug stores, all involving a man with a similar suspect description. Police tell us they're looking into a possible link to other cases."It's very scary he could potentially be doing this to women while they're shopping," said Sarah.Sarah is worried about what the man may do next."He's very brazen. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego college student out for a run was attacked by a swarm of bees — stung at least a hundred times — in the North County.Jaeyoung Choi tells ABC 10News anchor Lindsey Pena that he was running on a bike path near SR-56 and Carmel Valley Road on Aug. 4, when he started noticing the bees."Next thing I know, a couple bees are hitting me thought it was no big deal and then there were a lot more bees and then a lot more bees and then all of a sudden I'm getting swarmed," Choi said.During the attack, Choi said he saw a man in a beekeeper outfit and tried to get help from him, though he was unsuccessful."Did not speak any English at all the beekeeper so I couldn't get the guys info or even know if he's licensed or not, just one guy there, just really weird," Choi said.Eventually, a cyclist came across Choi and called 911, and Choi was rushed to Scripps Memorial Hospital. There, he learned he had been stung more than 100 times."At the hospital, they pulled out around 150 stingers or so basically swelled up to a balloon," said Choi.Choi says a week since the attack, his body is still reacting and breaking out in hives. He's also still dealing with the medical bills from the incident."I just can't imagine if it were somebody younger or a lot older I definitely think they would've left in a body bag," Choi said.James McDonald, a professional beekeeper and owns Encinitas Bee Company, said based on the bees' behaviors, he believes they were a form of Africanized "Killer Bees," adding that San Diego is home to plenty of them."They're called 'killer bees' for a reason, they kill people," McDonald said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A new political attack ad accuses mayoral candidate Barbara Bry of repeatedly falling asleep at public meetings. The ad is from a committee that supports State Assemblyman Todd Gloria. It says San Diego needs a mayor on alert given the coronavirus outbreak, the threat of wildfires, and the homeless crisis. It then cuts to shots of Bry appearing to doze off at two City Council Committee meetings within the last year. The committee, called Neighbors for Housing Solutions Supporting Todd Gloria for San Diego Mayor 2020, is backed by more than a dozen organizations, including the Municipal Employees Association and the Regional Chamber of Commerce. Attorney Gil Cabrera, its principal, is responsible for the ad."If it was a random falling asleep during a 10-hour council meeting, I'm not going to get into that, there's an amusement factor to it but I'm not going to get into it. It's the pattern of it," Cabrera said.Cabrera said Bry regularly dozes off at public meetings, but also said employees who see it fear retaliation for speaking out. Still, the ad raises questions about accuracy. It shows an image of Bry appearing to sleep at a committee meeting on the city's Get it Done app, while the narrator says she fell asleep during a meeting on police reform. "If this ad is talking about a meeting on police reform but showing a picture of Barbara Bry in a very different hearing, one, that plays a bit fast and loose with the truth and two, it makes problems with the ad the story rather than the Barbara Bry falling asleep on the job, which is what the backers of this ad wanted you to think about," said Thad Kousser, political scientists at UC San Diego. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego Congressman is responding to a Team 10 investigation that uncovered claims the government is not providing sufficient medical care to people in its custody.Court documents uncovered by Team 10 claim a man was arrested at the border then held for nearly three days in a potentially dangerous medical state.According to court documents, "Mr. Centeno was kept in a small cell where the lights were on the entire time. Mr. Centeno was not given a change of clothes during the nearly three days while he was at the Port of Entry. The cell where Mr. Centeno was held did not have a bed, and Mr. Centeno was given a thin foil blanket and a torn yoga mat to lie on.
