(KGTV) — A Los Angeles-area police pursuit ended late Tuesday with a suspect breakdancing as officers held him a gunpoint before being arrested.The chase took California Highway Patrol officers through the San Fernando Valley after the suspect failed to yield to commands to stop, according to ABC-affiliate KABC.Officers pursued the suspect over the 101 Freeway, north on the 405 Freeway, and then east onto the 118 Freeway.As the driver slowed in the Pacoima area, officers were able to enact a PIT maneuver and spin the suspect's vehicle out.The driver exited the vehicle and began walking backward toward CHP officers. But before turning himself over, he stopped and began breakdancing in the street, as officers kept their firearms trained on the man.After a short dance, the man surrendered to police without incident. 832

Newsom said to, "know your rights, learn more about your rights, legal protection, know that you should continue to camp, summer school, know that you should feel confident going to work, we have your back."The governor continued on to say that anyone fearing the planned Sunday raids does not have to open their door without a signed warrant, has the right to a lawyer, and has the right to remain silent if contacted by ICE. 639

(KGTV) — A man taken into custody last week after he was involved in a San Marcos crash and authorities discovered a dead body in his pickup truck has been arrested for murder and turned over to Anaheim Police.Anaheim Police say Abdulaziz Munther Alubidy, 30, was booked into Anaheim Detention Facility and is being held without bail.The San Sheriff's Department says Alubidy was involved in a crash just after 4 p.m. late Friday at San Marcos Boulevard and Rancho Santa Fe in San Marcos. When deputies responded and looked inside his Toyota Tundra pickup truck, they discovered the body of 56-year-old Jessie Villesca of Anaheim.RELATED: One person is dead after car crash in San MarcosDeputies said Villesca's injuries indicated she was murdered. Alubidy was detained at the scene.Anaheim Police were contacted after deputies say they found evidence indicating Villesca had been killed near W. Corporate Way and N. Muller Street in Anaheim earlier on Friday.Anaheim homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. Detectives didn't discuss any possible motives or any further details. Gavin Newsom signed a series of bills on Wednesday aimed at reforming the criminal justice system in California.The series of bills signed by Newsom intends to increase oversight of the criminal justice system, amid nationwide calls for police reform. Newsom and advocates hailed the new laws as first steps in reforming policing in the state.“I hope people recognize we’re moving in the right direction, and again I just recognize we have a lot more work to do in this space and we are not walking away from that responsibility,” Newsom said.The bills signed will enact several reforms including:AB-1196: A ban on arm-based grips, including chokeholds that apply pressure to a person's windpipe, and to carotid holds, which slow the flow of blood to the brain.AB-1506: Requiring the state attorney general to investigate fatal police shootings of unarmed civilians.AB-1185: Allowing county supervisors to create oversight board and inspectors general with subpoena powers over independently elected sheriffs.AB-2542: Suspects could be entitled to new trials or sentences if they can demonstrate racial bias played a role in any part of their case.AB-3070: Allowing judges to assess whether lawyers illegally exclude jurors based on their race.SB-823: Will phase out California's remaining juvenile prisons. The state will instead create an Office of Youth and Community Restoration and send grants to counties to provide custody and supervision.Several other measures that would have sought further reforms did not make it past the closing hours of the legislative session last month, including efforts to release police misconduct records, require officers to intervene if they see excessive force, limits officers' use of rubber bullets and tear gas, and end the careers of officers who commit serious misconduct.The Associated Press contributed to this report. 1886

(KGTV) - An Amber Alert issued early Monday morning was canceled hours later when the Central California girl was reportedly found in Temecula.Law enforcement officials said Aaliyah Gomez was taken by her father Julio Gomez, who did not have custody.Aaliyah was taken overnight from Lemoore, near Bakersfield.  Officials believed her father was heading for the Mexican border in a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado.The girl was dropped off with family but Gomez remains at large, according to KABC. 501
