OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- A man was hit and killed by a train while crossing the tracks in Oceanside Saturday night.According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the man was hit around 11:20 p.m. on the 200 block of Surfrider Way. Deputies say the southbound train was traveling 55 miles per hour when the engineer spotted a man duck under the pedestrian crossing guard and try to run across the track. The surface is shiny but does not appear to be reflective.According to the post, the item was found in the "middle of nowhere."Officials won't announce the exact location of the object as "it is in a very remote area, and if individuals were to attempt to visit the area, there is a significant possibility they may become stranded and require rescue."It's not known who installed the metal monolith. ORLANDO, Fla. — Fans are calling on Disney parks to re-theme one of their most iconic rides.A petition posted on Change.org asks Disney to remove all references to its 1946 film "Song of the South" from Splash Mountain.The petition says the movie "steeped in extremely problematic and stereotypical racist tropes." The petition suggests Disney should re-theme the ride around "Princess and the Frog." Tiana, the main character in the film, is recognized for being Disney's first African-American princess.The petition had more than 8,000 signatures as of Thursday morning. The petition's current goal is set at 10,000 signatures.The call for change comes as the country continues to hold discussions surrounding racial injustice in the wake of George Floyd's death in Minneapolis police custody.Floyd's death caught the nation's attention after bystander video showed the 46-year-old man struggling to breathe while in police custody in late May. The video showed a white police officer, later identified as Derek Chauvin, kneeling on Floyd's neck for more than eight minutes.Chauvin was initially charged with third-degree murder before charges were upgraded to second-degree murder. He's also charged with manslaughter.The three other officers involved in Floyd's arrest — Tou Thao, J. One of the fiercest rivalries in sport -- the New York Yankees versus the Boston Red Sox -- is on the move and heading to London as Major League Baseball flies across the Atlantic to broaden its global reach.MLB announced Tuesday that the Yankees and Red Sox will play two regular-season games at the London Stadium -- which played host to the athletics and opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics -- on June 29 and 30, 2019.The Red Sox will be the home team for the two-game series, the first MLB games to be played in Europe.But it will not be the first time regular-season MLB matches will have been played outside the US, with ties already having been staged in Mexico, Japan, Puerto Rico and Australia.It has already been announced that Oakland and Seattle will play next season's opener at the Tokyo Dome on March 20-21.As part of the two-year deal another series will be played in London in 2020. One person in California has died from the E. coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday.
