SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The county's average price for a gallon of gas eclipsed for the first time since May 22, according to AAA.The average price of regular gas in San Diego spike 9 cents Saturday and has risen 10 of the last 12 days for a total of 35.8 cents, according to AAA.Since last month, the average price is up more than 40 cents.MAP: Click here to find the cheapest gas in your areaIn California, however, the statewide average sits at .95 a gallon. The national average rests substantially lower, at .65 a gallon.The rise in gasoline prices has been attributed to several issues at refineries in California and just weeks after attacks on Saudi Arabia oil fields. Refinery issues include unplanned work at PBF refinery in Torrance, an outage at Chevron’s Segundo refinery, a flaring event at Valero Benicia and Marathon’s LA refinery, according to GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan.City News Service contributed to this report. 965

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The Infinite Chemical Analysis Lab building in Miramar looks like any other chemical lab, but inside the products they are testing are all cannabis. InfiniteCal tests products for things like potency, pesticides, heavy metals and microbial analysis to make sure the products are safe for consumption and meet state standards. Josh Swider is the CEO and co-founder. Swider's company consists of roughly 45 employees, 30 of those are either chemists or biologists. The team tests products for licensed retailers to make sure their cannabis meets the standard for what is allowed by the state. When it comes to vaping, Swider says their analysis shows that what's making people sick is when the product is diluted, most recently with Vitamin E or Vitamin E acetate. According to the CDC, 33 people have died from lung related illnesses linked to e-ciggarettes or vaping products. Most of those samples tested by the FDA had THC. San Diego County has confirmed 22 vape related illnesses in the county. Although InfiniteCal doesn't just test products for vaping, Swider says the best thing a person can do is to do their research and make sure they are buying from a licensed retailer. He also recommends asking the business for their certificate of analysis to find out what's in the cannabis product they're consuming. InfiniteCal operates six days a week and also will tests an individual consumer's product if they show up to the lab. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance video from a Clairemont church shows a woman with a gun in one hand and her baby in the other, prosecutors said.The video was played in court Friday as the preliminary hearing started for Anna Conkey.Conkey is accused of walking into Sunday services at Church Tsidkenu in April and making threats while holding her 10-month-old son.Pastor Benjamin Wisan testified Conkey pointed the gun at parishioners and her own baby. Wisan was on stage and tried to calm everyone by telling them the weapon was a Taser. A 911 call prosecutors say Conkey made to report herself was played for the jury."Hi, yes, there's a woman at a church and she's saying she's going to blow up the foundation of the church,” said the person in the 911 call. Police later determined the weapon was not loaded. Wisan said Conkey had disrupted services weeks before the incident. He had tried to set up a meeting with her but it did not happen. Conkey pleaded not guilty to several felony counts including child abuse, making criminal threats, and a false report of a bomb. A judge will determined if the case will go to trial. 1312

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The ACLU is threatening to sue ICE over a policy that forbids detention center volunteers from speaking with the press.Souls Offering Loving and Compassionate Ears, also known as SOLACE, is not allowed to help at the Otay Mesa Detention Center until they sign a form promising not to speak with the media.In August, ICE discovered SOLACE wasn’t in compliance with their protocol before asking the group to resubmit the paperwork for their volunteers.ICE says the code of ethics is in place for the safety of the detainees. “These are often folks who don't have any family or friends in the United States so even if they could write or call they don't have anyone to connect with,” said Angela Fujii, a social justice coordinator with the First Unitarian Universalist.SOLACE volunteers are ready to help, but they want to make sure they can share with others about the place where things are kept pretty tight.SOLACE was also briefly barred from visiting during the Obama Administration but the compromise was met.Other groups are providing detainees with services, but SOLACE was the only one allowed to regularly visit. 1148
