BEIJING, Nov.6 (Xinhua) -- Rain and snow in China's north have driven farm produce prices slightly up in 36 large and medium-sized cities, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said Tuesday.

The average size of the monthly allowance for urban residents hit 311 yuan (about 49 U.S. dollars) in June, with average monthly allowances of 159 yuan for rural residents, according to the report.

The document, which was made public on Monday, praised the progress made in that regard between 2006 to 2010, citing that licensed waste-producing units safely disposed of 8.4 million tonnes of dangerous wastes in 2010, up 180 percent from 2006.

Snow also hit Beijing's nearby provinces and cities. In Shandong Province, 60 expressway toll gates were closed on Friday because of snow.

The State Council meeting also approved a draft regulation regarding the administration of credit industry.
