Former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin admitted Friday that it hurt "a bit" to hear Sen. John McCain say he wished he picked Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman as his running mate in 2008."I don't lie, so I'll tell you -- a bit. You know, I think I described it earlier as a gut punch," Palin told NBC News in an interview Friday. "But again, I'm going to choose to look back on the good times that we did have together."In his forthcoming memoir, "The Restless Wave," and in a separate documentary, the Arizona Republican said he regrets not choosing Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent senator, calling it "another mistake that I made," The New York Times reported. Palin, the former Alaska GOP governor, was ultimately on the 2008 ticket with McCain.Palin's supporters have jumped on McCain's remarks and implied they mean he regrets choosing Palin as his running mate.Palin told NBC News that she hopes McCain, who is battling brain cancer, finds some "positive aspect in decisions that he's made in the past -- even about that campaign.""It is kind of sad to hear that he and or someone speaking for him does have regrets," Palin said. "And I hope that he finds that kind of peace and contentment also to be able to look back on decisions and realize, really, things work out the way that they're supposed to work out."She called McCain a "friend" and said she will "never disparage someone who has served our country and made a lot of sacrifices as a vet.""I always had a lot of respect for his maverick nature," Palin said. "He going rogue -- wish he would have been kind of going rogue more on the common-sense conservative side of some issues. No, I certainly have respect for many of the things that he's accomplished."Palin told The Daily Mail in an interview published Thursday that hearing McCain's admission that he regrets not choosing Lieberman is "like a perpetual gut-punch," but she attributes "a lot of what we're hearing and reading regarding McCain's statements to his ghostwriter or ghostwriters."The-CNN-Wire 2058

For those who have a job they can do from home, plans to go back to the office full-time continue to get pushed back.If they weren't feeling burnt out before, experts with staffing firm Robert Half say you could be feeling it set in now.“If you don't raise your hand and have a really open and honest dialogue, you could continue to feel that way and that burnout can manifest itself in you missing deadlines, in you skipping work, needing to take vacation time and it really can be a weight that bears on you,” said Brett Good, Sr. District President at Robert Half.He says your boss should be receptive. Many of them are feeling the same way. That burnout can feel heavier because many people are afraid to take vacation.A new survey from LinkedIn found nearly 70% of professionals don't plan to take time off through the end of the year or aren't sure if they will.More than half say they're afraid to travel because of the risks associated with COVID-19 and 22% want to save their vacation time in case they or a family member gets sick.Even for people planning to take vacation, a quarter say they feel more pressure at work to be always-on because of the current state of the economy. If you're looking for a job right now, expect to see more openings that let you work from anywhere.“Most employers that we're chatting with right now are very upfront of saying, ‘yes we're ok with remote right now, but ultimately we will want that person to be working in our facility or one of our facilities,’ and so you have to ask the question to be sure if you're interviewing with an employer of what does it look like in 12, 24 months who knows how long,” said Good.Experts at Robert Half say they expect to see more work-from-home jobs long-term, even after the pandemic. 1776

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Prosecutors charging New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft with buying sex from massage parlor prostitutes are trying to save their case. They will argue before a Florida appellate court on Tuesday that police legally made secret video recordings of Kraft having paid sex at a massage parlor in January 2019. A lower court judge ruled that prosecutors could not use the recordings. He said the warrant allowing police to install secret cameras inside the Orchids of Asia spa violated constitutional standards. Kraft is charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty but issued a public apology. 667
