As lawmakers begin bipartisan talks for another round of COVID-19 stimulus funding, divisions between the White House and Congress are threatening its passage.Republican congressional leaders met with Trump on Monday at the White House as cases spike across the country and key provisions of the last stimulus package, like increased unemployment benefits, are set to expire in the coming days.Trump says “good things” are happening, but the administration is stiffening its opposition to more testing money and interjecting other priorities that could complicate passage.According to The Washington Post, a bill coming together between GOP lawmakers will embrace Trump's priorities like payroll tax cuts, measures incentivizing schools to reopen in the fall with additional funding and little aid to state and local governments. Some of those points have already raised concerns with several Republican lawmakers, while the bill will undoubtedly face pushback from Democrats.According to The Associated Press, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is prepared to roll out the Republican plan in a matter of days, which should total about trillion in funding. The Democrats introduced a trillion HEROES Act stimulus package in May, which has already passed the House. An unpublished report that was obtained by the nonprofit newsroom Center for Public Integrity, prepared for the White House Coronavirus Task Force, recommends that 18 states consider rolling back reopening.The 359-page document detailed the states as a "red zone" because they had more than 100 new cases per 100,000 population last week. As bottles of hand sanitizers and stacks of disinfectant wipes continue to fly off the shelves amid the coronavirus pandemic, the U.S. government issued a stamp of approval for another household cleaning product.The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) gave Pine-Sol Original Multi-Surface Cleaner the approval "for kill claims against SARS-Cov-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, on hard non-porous surfaces," according to a press release.To prevent the spread of COVID-19, those looking to use Pine-Sol is encouraged to apply the Pine-Sol multi-surface cleaner with a clean sponge or cloth on hard, nonporous surfaces. Once the surface is wet, let it stand for 10 minutes and then rinse, the press release says.In March, the EPA released a list of household products that kill the coronavirus. An Idaho woman reported to the Nampa Police Department Tuesday night that her 6-year-old son had been given a small bag of marijuana while out trick-or-treating.She reported that she had been going through his candy bag and found the small plastic baggie that appeared to contain marijuana. She brought the baggie to the Nampa Police Department and turned it over to officers.   Nampa Police field tested the substance found in the candy bag and it indeed tested “presumptively positive” for marijuana, said Nampa Police Sgt. Tim Riha.“Officers obtained the route that (the child) took while out trick-or-treating. (The child) had been to several houses in that area, but it is unknown which house provided the marijuana to the trick-or-treater,” Riha explained.  The baggie that contained the marijuana will be sent to the lab for fingerprint testing, he added.The incident is still under investigation.  The Nampa Police Department reminds parents to inspect all candy and items obtained by their kids while out on Halloween.“If any candy looks like it has been tampered with or opened, it is best just to throw the item away. Be wary of allowing children to consume any homemade treats and fully inspect all other items,” Riha advised. 1276

An FBI agent was shot in Brooklyn on Saturday, according to a tweet from the bureau's office in New York.The agent was taken to a local hospital, the tweet said, but the FBI did not provide additional details.Detective Sophia Mason of the New York Police Department confirmed to CNN that an FBI agent was shot, but she wouldn't provide information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the condition of the officer. Mason deferred CNN's questions to the FBI.The Fire Department of New York responded to a report of "gunshot wounds" in Brooklyn on Saturday, according to Michael Parrella, an FDNY spokesman. They received the call around 3:22 p.m.Two patients were transported from the scene, according to Parrella, but it's not clear what injuries they sustained.The patients appeared to be in stable condition when they were transported, Parrella said.
