KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Authorities in East Tennessee have asked the public to be on the lookout after a tiger was spotted near an industrial park.The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy spotted the tiger Wednesday night in the Forks of the River Industrial Park.The sheriff’s office says several agencies are looking for the tiger, including the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Knoxville police’s Animal Control Unit and representatives with Tiger Haven, which is located in Kingsport.Investigators say there have been no other sightings. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Last week, a Kansas City couple’s special day took a horrifying turn when the groom-to-be accidentally dropped the ring he was in the process of proposing with into the water beneath the picturesque bridge he and his bride-to-be were on.Seth Dixon and Ruth Salas’ friends got into the pond at Loose Park to find the lost gem, but their search was unsuccessful.Giving up hope of finding the wedding ring, the couple searched for a way to replace it. A friend started a GoFundMe page after video of the incident went viral, and the couple was eventually invited onto 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' for a do-over, complete with a custom-built set made to look like Loose Park and a brand new ring.Little did they know, hundreds of miles away, back home in Kansas City, a complete stranger had taken it upon himself to find their precious lost treasure.“I wanted to make sure they got it back before somebody else found it and had the opportunity to not give it back,” Michael Long said.Long lives in Springfield, Missouri, and made the 170-mile trek to Loose Park three different times to make sure Dixon and Salas got their ring back.He said he was scrolling through Facebook one day when he came across the viral video. Knowing he had the ability to find the ring, he went to search the water.Long dove for the first time on Thursday. He searched using only a metal detector and no scuba gear, bobbing up for air and back down to the pond floor for an hour and a half before calling it quits for the night. But he didn't give up.Long came back on Saturday, and this time searched for three hours until he finally pulled the diamond from the pond.Long searched the pond at Loose Park to make sure Dixon and Salas got their ring back.Long said he contacted a friend of the couple about 20 minutes after his discovery and made arrangements to get the ring back to Dixon and Salas as soon as possible.The couple finally got their ring back on Tuesday, thanks to Long.He said he felt compelled to help in the situation even though he didn’t know those involved personally because he wanted everyone to know that there are still good people out in the world.He also said he wanted there to be peace of mind that the couple got their ring back rather than someone stealing it or it remaining lost.Long’s other finds from his dives? Kevin Daly is a fit 62-year-old man who has lived an athletic, healthy lifestyle. That was why it was strange when his stomach continued to grow, despite losing weight. According to WCBS-TV, Daly had to convince his insurance company that his growing stomach was not being caused by drinking suds. Daly convinced his insurance company to allow a CAT scan. The CAT scan had a shocking result. Daly had a 30-pound tumor in his abdominal cavity."I never drank beer,” he told WCBS. “Don’t like it, always been athletic, never had a belly.”Daly had the tumor surgically removed, but the procedure was lengthy, lasting six hours. According to WCBS, the tumor was a low-grade, fatty cancer that had wrapped around an organ. Daly's doctor said that a kidney also had to be removed to ensure the tumor was completely removed. Because the tumor was slow growing, he will not need any sort of radiation or chemotherapy treatment. Daly will continue to be monitored with MRIs as a precautiion.  1035

KEARNY MESA (KGTV): A San Diego surfer is making a name for himself on the Professional Big Wave World Tour. He's now using his newfound fame to help kids in Southern California hospitals.Jo Jo Roper is in his first year on tour. Just before Thanksgiving, he shredded a 60-foot wave in Portugal."That feeling, it's hard to describe," Roper says of surfing waves that big. "Sometimes you black out, to be honest, you don't even remember what happened."Roper says he remembers everything from the wave this week. It was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream and years of preparation."It's really difficult," he says. "So when you line one up, it's that much more rewarding to kick out a wave."Roper comes from a family of pro surfers. His dad, Joe Roper, surfed professionally in the '70s and '80s. He stopped when he had kids, and says it's a thrill to watch Jo Jo pick up the family mantle."He's taken it to another level," says Joe Roper. "I'm so proud of him."Jo Jo is giving his parents a lot to be proud of outside of surfing. He's starting working with City of Hope Hospital in Los Angeles. It helps treat kids with cancer. "These kids are stronger than anything I've ever done," he says. "What they go through is on a whole other level of what's amazing. I'm just trying to bring some joy to them."Jo Jo has the kids decorate his surfboards with their handprints and signatures. He looks at them for inspiration when he's riding the big waves."It's very heartwarming for me," he says. "It gives me a bigger purpose when I'm sitting in the line-up. I look down and have all these kids on my side. It's awesome."Jo Jo will auction off the boards he uses on the pro tour later this year. The money will go to City of Hope. He calls it his "Go Big, Give Hope" plan. 1783
