NEW BOSTON, Texas — Authorities are investigating after a baby was removed from the womb of a 21-year-old woman found dead in a small East Texas city. A Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman on Monday told The Associated Press that the body of Reagan Simmons Hancock was discovered Friday morning in a home in New Boston, a city of about 4,600 people. Hancock was reportedly 8 months pregnant with her second child.New Boston police have said a 27-year-old woman was later taken into custody by Oklahoma authorities. New Orleans city officials have set a tentative date to remove the bodies of two workers that have been trapped inside a partially-collapsed construction site since October.The efforts to recover the bodies of the workers trapped in the collapsed Hard Rock Hotel construction site could begin as early as July 13, according to NOLA.com.A spokesman for the city said in a press briefing on Tuesday that crews have finished taking down three buildings that surround the hotel and are currently assembling cranes to work on the building itself.Crews could begin working on the hotel by Monday, and officials say it could take four to five days before rescuers can remove the remains of the two workers.The two workers were killed in a partial collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel construction site in downtown New Orleans on Oct. 12. The latest surge in U.S. coronavirus cases appears to be much larger than the two previous ones, and it is all but certain to get worse. Deaths are climbing again, reaching an average of more than 930 a day. However, experts say medical and testing advances give them reason to believe the nation is better able to deal with the virus this time. On Monday, the number of coronavirus cases in the US passed 10 million since the start of the pandemic.Despite a rise in recorded cases, the University of Washington's IHME model projects up to 2,000 coronavirus-related deaths per day by the end of December. NEW YORK — Indoor dining in New York City will close beginning Monday amid the rising spread of COVID-19 increased hospitalizations linked to the virus, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday.“We said that we would watch it if the hospitalization rate didn’t stabilize, we would close indoor dining. It is not,” Cuomo said.Outdoor dining and takeout will continue, he added.The increasing rate of transmission has been a problem, especially in densely populated areas, Cuomo said.The governor added that the state will monitor indoor dining data in areas outside of New York City and orange zones. Adjustments will be made next week if needed. When asked about a timeline on reopening the city's indoor dining, Cuomo's team said the state will be looking over cases and hospitalizations over the next two weeks.Earlier this week, Cuomo said any region with an unstable hospitalization rate for more than five days would see new restrictions on indoor dining.He said New York City would see a full closure on indoor dining while regions outside of the city would see a reduction to 25% capacity. Amid the announcement of closing indoor dining, Cuomo called on the federal government to provide restaurants and bars with relief in the next stimulus package.The state will do what it can to assist these businesses, including extending the commercial eviction moratorium, Cuomo said.“So, if a business can’t pay rent because of this situation, they won’t be evicted,” he said.The adjustments restaurants have made are "remarkable," Cuomo added. Heat lamps and partial enclosures are working, according to the governor, but he hopes that indoor dining closures will only be for a short period of time."I understand they're going to sustain economic damage, and I think the federal government should reimburse them for it.
