VISTA (CNS) - A man and woman were being sought Sunday after the man allegedly rammed and disabled a sheriff's deputy's patrol car while fleeing the scene of a theft at a 7-Eleven store.The theft happened at 2:10 p.m. and someone at the store began following the suspect who was driving a stolen car, according to Lt. William Amavisca of the sheriff's department.Deputies were notified of the theft and caught up to the suspect, who then rammed a deputy's vehicle on East Vista Way, Amavisca said. The deputy's vehicle was disabled. No injuries were reported.The suspect fled the scene and deputies later found the car abandoned and disabled, the lieutenant said. The driver and his female passenger apparently fled the scene on foot.A deputy recognized the man as having a felony arrest warrant, Amavisca said. 819

WASATCH COUNTY, Utah — A man has been arrested and charged after police say he threw his wife into the Provo River in Utah on Sunday.According to an arrest report, 61-year-old Douglas Harold Green and his wife were at the Provo River Resort, located just downriver from Deer Creek State Park in Wasatch County, when they began arguing over dinner arrangements.Police say Green became angry and threatened to drown her in the river. He then dragged her to the bank of the Provo River and forced her in, the probable cause statement says.Witnesses said they tried to help her, but Green yelled at them to stay away.Police said the woman had a bruise on each arm, which she said were from Green dragging her. VISTA (CNS) - A man who fired a BB gun at an Oceanside business that had put up a sign supporting the Black Lives Matter movement pleaded guilty today to charges of violating civil rights by damaging property and vandalism.Steve Soto, 23, of Carlsbad, is slated to be sentenced Sept. 28 to one year in county jail stemming from the June 4 shooting that shattered a window at Bliss Tea & Treats.Oceanside police Sgt. John McKean said Soto drove by the business, then fired a BB gun out the window of his vehicle.The business had a sign in the window at the time that read: "Black owned, we stand with you," McKean said.The sergeant said surveillance video helped detectives identify the vehicle used in the crime, leading to Soto's arrest on July 15.He also pleaded guilty to an assault charge related to a May 28 incident involving a male victim and a misdemeanor vandalism count related to an unspecified July 4 incident.He was facing a hate crime allegation stemming from the Bliss Tea & Treats shooting and other misdemeanor charges of discharging a BB gun in a grossly negligent manner stemming from unspecified incidents occurring in June and July, but those counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. 1232
