SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A local group called the San Diego Rapid Response Network is calling on the community to help asylum-seekers being released throughout San Diego County. On Monday, the group held a press conference explaining how they have been helping the migrants as they are released by ICE, awaiting their asylum hearing. The network is made up of several local churches, the local ACLU, and Casa Cornelia. Volunteers say they have been helping migrants by providing shelter, food, and medical services. They say they've also made travel arrangements to help the migrants get to their final destination. Volunteers tell 10News the migrants are released with no resources and sometimes late at night. The group says they felt the need to help after ICE ended their policy of connecting the migrants with a family member or a sponsor before their release. ICE tells 10News they always plan for releases during the daylight hours but say sometimes things can get delayed since it is a multi-agency effort. They told us of only one instance where the group was released after sundown. The rapid response network is hoping the community will help with monetary donations so they can continue providing their services. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A new camera system along the west coast helps firefighters pinpoint wildfires faster. ALERTWildfire has officially launched the first 70 cameras in Southern California including 15 here in San Diego. There are 160 total cameras along the west coast in Washington, Oregon, Nevada and California. UCSD Geosciences Professor Neal Driscoll has worked for two years as the co-developer for ALERTWildfire. Driscoll tells 10News, "they form this network, we can triangulate and we can actually locate the fire so we can give this ignition point to the first responders". Driscoll hopes to see ten times the number of cameras installed in five years. For him, it's more than just new technology, Driscoll says it's a faster way to protect buildings and people caught in wildfires, "in the old days wed have to send out engines or aircraft". Now, fire crews will be able look at the cameras online to see how sever the flames are before calling rigs to the scene. "We can scale our response up or down from the information on the camera". ALERTWildfire is funded by utility companies including SDG&E as well as Southern California Edison. 1162

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego man is accused of having and distributing explicit images of minors.According to a federal complaint that was just unsealed authorities allege Gilad Daniel Reifler knowingly distributed visual depictions of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct and possessed images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The federal documents say agents used peer-to-peer file sharing software to connect to his computer in January 2017 and obtain more than four thousand images. Agents say they were able to connect to the computer on two other dates and obtain more sexually explicit files.According to the complaint in June of 2017 agents searched Reifler’s home where they claim he admitted to obtaining and distributing child pornography via the same P2P file-sharing program that they used to obtain the images from a device in his residence.Court documents say, “following the execution of the search warrant I reviewed media seized from Reifler’s residents. The results showed over 170,000 images and over 10,000 videos depicting minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct on media seized.”A man who identified himself has Gilad Reifler told Team 10 investigator Adam Racusin he had no comment about the allegations.10News tried to get a hold of Reifler’s attorney, but as of this writing have not heard back. The FBI tells Team 10 they can’t comment on anything outside of what’s already in the public documents. 1466
