A Lake Geneva, Wisconsin family is trying to raise money to bring their teenager home from a trip overseas where he became ill.Nathan Dyer traveled to Morocco with his cousin Ashley Benyamina and her husband Mohammed who is from the North African country. He fell ill on April 15 and is now in a coma receiving care in Paris. The beginning of the trip was great, Ashley and Mohammed said, and Nathan was enjoying everything the country had to offer.“He was in the desert running in the dunes, he was climbing mountains we were playing soccer in the streets,” Mohammed said.Then when the three returned to Marrakesh, Nathan started exhibiting symptoms of what they thought was travelers sickness. Doctors gave him antibiotics and told him he’d be better in three or four days. That didn’t happen, so they made another doctor’s appointment.“The appointment was like at 3 p.m. and at 2 p.m. He said, 'I’m really not feeling well, I think I have to go' and then he collapsed on the floor," Ashley said. Nathan has been in a coma ever since. Nathan had traveler’s insurance which got him transported by air ambulance to Paris for better care. That’s where he remains now.His mother has flown there to be with him. His insurance maxed out at ,000 for the trip from Morocco to Paris. A Japanese marketing company is giving its employees a very attractive reason to stay away from cigarettes.Piala Inc., based in Tokyo, made the decision last month to give non-smoking employees an extra six paid days off every year. Their reasoning? To balance out the time smoking employees spend away from their desks on cigarette breaks each day.According to the Japan Times, Piala CEO Takao Asuka said the idea came from an employee comment box submission at its office.“I hope to encourage employees to quit smoking through incentives rather than penalties or coercion,” Asuka?told the Japan Times.He was likely contrasting his approach with that of fellow Japanese company Lawson Inc., which recently banned all employees at its corporate headquarters from smoking during the work day.Since Piala introduced the measure, four employees have quit smoking, according to London's The Telegraph.Smoking is a major issue in Japan, with the country ranking among the world's highest in terms of smoking rates, according to the Washington Post.Clint Davis is a reporter for the Scripps National Desk. A late snow in a small town might slow down the traffic, but it can't delay the final days for one of the community's gathering spots."This is when they see each other," said Parkman Township, Ohio Trustee Dennis Ikeler. "At the post office."Ikeler says after decades leasing out the building to the post office, the landlords told the township they don't think the building is safe enough for the public. They terminated the lease with a 30-day notice. The U.S. Postal Service says they'll be out by April 28th.The problem is that a lot of homes in the center of the town don't have any curbside delivery or mailboxes to receive mail. The more than 200 boxes inside the small post office have been their only option. When the building closes at the end of the month, they'll have the option to pay for individual boxes at their homes or have their P.O. box transferred to the Middlefield, Ohio Post Office, about seven miles away.Ikeler says traveling a few miles for mail isn't a big deal for most people he's talked to, but Catherine Dudich says it could be an issue for others."There's quite a lot of elderly people that live in the community and they can't get out every day to go get their mail," said Dudich. "It's sad that all these little communities are going by the wayside."Parkman residents say their P.O. Boxes have been free when they are normally rented out for a few months at a time. A family is hoping to locate their fallen soldier's American flag after it was stolen from their truck.Shawn Marceau told FOX 12 his truck was broken into in Yakima, Washington and inside was an American flag that belonged to his son, Joe, who was killed while serving in Afghanistan.He said the signatures of his son and two other fallen soldiers are displayed on the flag."The significance to anybody is really nothing, but to us, it is so personal because it's their last signatures in their lives,” said Marceau. “And I think that is what makes it so important to us.
