SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Rancho Bernardo High School briefly went on “secure campus” Monday morning after receiving an anonymous threat.According to the school, employees received an email threatening violence against the campus around 9:30 a.m. Monday. The threats weren’t specific to Rancho Bernardo High School, according to a letter sent to parents.Employees notified police, who had officers on campus within a few minutes. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County is seeing far fewer influenza cases at this point in the flu season compared to last year, due in part to coronavirus-related safety measures, according to public health officials.So far this season, the county has recorded 39 influenza cases, compared to 1,220 cases at this point last season. Flu season generally runs from October through May, with flu activity peaking in December and February.The county says it's "very likely" physical distancing, hand washing, and mask-wearing are contributing to the low flu activity."Influenza activity remains very low to date this season in San Diego County. This is very likely due to the social distancing, hand washing, and mask-wearing interventions instituted to reduce the transmission of SARS-CoV2, the virus that causes COVID-19," the county's influenza report said. Health officials say influenza vaccination rates are also contributing to the lower numbers. So far this season, 1,043,552 San Diegans have been vaccinated for the flu. The report claims that America’s Finest City is the second most rent-burdened city in the nation. Miami took the top spot on the list, followed by San Diego, Los Angeles, New York and Orlando. The report also found that those who make minimum wage would have to work nearly 100 hours per week to be able to afford the median rent. To come up with the report, Freddie Mac looked at how other organizations measure affordability to assess the rent-burden issue. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County officials say they are taking additional steps regarding employers linked to outbreaks.Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said the county will update its public health order to state "entities shall notify employees of an outbreak that occurred at a physical location where they work."Fletcher added that the county believes most businesses are acting responsibly and notifying employees. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are investigating Monday a woman's report that she was held against her will in Rancho Pe?asquitos.A woman arrived at a home on Caminito Cuadro at 10:45 a.m. and said she had been kidnapped and held captive in a neighboring house, police said. The location is in a residential area near SR-56 and Carmel Mountain Road.Neighbors told 10News they saw a naked woman covered in a bedsheet leave the home.The woman was taken to a nearby police station for an interview, police said.10News is monitoring developments in this story. 569
