KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The Kansas Attorney General’s Office Tuesday released indictments against three more officials and entities in connection to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark death in 2016. Jeffrey Wayne Henry, John Timothy Schooley, and Henry & Sons Construction Company, Inc. were indicted by a Wyandotte County Grand Jury.The trio faces reckless second-degree murder charges in addition to aggravated battery and aggravated child endangerment charges stemming from others who rode Verruckt at the company’s Kansas City, Kansas waterpark.Henry was taken into custody Monday by U.S. Marshals in Cameron County, Texas. A spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office said Schooley remains at large.Henry is co-owner of Schlitterbahn and is connected to Henry and Sons Construction Company.Schooley played a key role in the design of Verruckt.It was on Verruckt that then 10-year-old Caleb Schwab died in August 2016.Last week, the attorney general’s office charged the company and its park operations manager at the time of the incident, Tyler Miles, in connection to Schwab’s death.Miles pleaded not guilty in a court hearing in Wyandotte County on Friday. 1189

It was right in front of me. I actually saw the two people that were killed," said Sharon.The victims were identified as 22-year-old Eli Clayton and 27-year-old Taylor Robertson.“I worked my way outside and saw the young man, Taylor Robertson, and he was lying there face down, and we rolled him over to see if he was still alive. I think I witnessed him breathing his last breath," said Sharon.Sharon has been a part of the gaming community for years and heartbroken by the tragedy.“They're kids. They're kids having fun, kids doing what they love to do. They're parents having fun, they're you, they're me, they're everybody. It’s just kids playing a game, nothing more than that,” said Sharon.He has a message for those who lost their loved ones while they were supposed to be just having fun.“They didn't die alone. They died with a brotherhood. They died doing something they love to do, and their memory doesn't die. We're going through this every couple of months. JAMUL, Calif. (KGTV) - A stretch of Highway 94 where a Border Patrol agent died is now dedicated in his name. Jarod Dittman was killed near the 8.5 mile marker on Otay Lakes Road in Jamul in March 2008. He was driving to his assigned patrol route when he rolled over. Dittman had been working with the Border Patrol for one year. On Monday, Dittman’s family and Border Patrol agents mounted two memorial signs. They also gathered at Eastlake Church for prayers and remembrance. “Thank you for never leaving my side,” said Dittman’s widow as she spoke to her late husband’s Border Patrol colleagues. Agent Dittman was 28 years old when he died. He is survived by his wife and daughter. 692

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Plaza Academy teacher Justin Gillespie is bringing hip hop production to his classroom.The class is called ‘The Beat Academy of KC’ and is the 5th and 6th hour at school for students.“It's the only program in Kansas City that teaches kids how to make hip hop production,” Gillespie said.Gillespie launched the program back in August.“It's been something I've done in my personal life,” Gillespie said. “I've been a professional musician for 15 years and it's been super rewarding.”From beats to rhythms, students take their creativity to a whole new level.“I'm excited to go here everyday,” freshman Thom Van Til said. “I get joyful when I come here, like it helps me calm down,” 8th grader K’ron Lyons said.The class is producing more than just quality hip hop, it’s also producing higher grades and more engagement from students.“Justin would probably say you cannot perform because your grades is bad, so he encourages me to like make sure I do my work,” Lyons said.Students plan to perform what they’ve been working on at the Beat Academy Block Party alongside Kansas City hip hop artists like Ces Cru, JL & Info Gates, Adrian Truth and Suli4Q. The school is raising funds to build a recording studio this summer, to make more courses available to students next year.  1328
