BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif. (KGTV) - A helicopter made a hard landing in the Anza-Borrego desert about three miles east of Borrego Springs in East San Diego County Monday, deputies said.Four people were on board the Robinson R-44 helicopter when it went down about 1:30 p.m., according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Office.Three people were treated at the scene, according to The Borrego Sun. Deputies said they had minor injuries.The helicopter is registered to Big Blue Corp of Las Vegas. 10News is working to confirm that it may have been operated by Big Blue Air, a tour company based in Palm Springs. A company representative had no immediate comment on the landing.Borrego Springs Airport officials said the male pilot was on the way to the Rams Hill Country Club in Borrego Springs.The helicopter landed in rough terrain near Inspiration Wash, officials said. The area is accessible to 4WD vehicles via dirt track. Temperatures are in the high 70s.The FAA and NTSB will investigate the landing. 1022

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Walmart announced Tuesday that it’s launching a new membership program called Walmart+ that can save customers money and time.Walmart+ members will receive unlimited free delivery from stores, fuel discounts and access to tools that make shopping faster, the company said in a press release.Membership will be available to all customers on Sept. 15 and it will cost a year or .95 per month, a similar price point to Amazon Prime. The Walmart+ membership also includes a 15-day trial period.Amazon, one of Walmart’s biggest competitors, has been offering Prime since 2005 and has racked up more than 150 million members, so the retail giant has an uphill battle to catch up, The Associated Press reports.The initial list of Walmart+ benefits are below:Unlimited free delivery: In-store prices as fast as same-day on more than 160,000 items from tech and toys to household essentials and groceries. This service was previously known as Delivery Unlimited – a subscription service that allows customers to place an unlimited number of deliveries for a low, flat yearly or monthly fee. Current subscribers will automatically become Walmart+ members.Scan & Go: Unlock Scan & Go in the Walmart app — a fast way to shop in-store. Using the Walmart app, customers can scan their items as they shop and pay using Walmart Pay for a quick, easy, touch-free payment experience.Fuel discounts: Fill up and save up to 5 cents a gallon at nearly 2,000 Walmart, Murphy USA and Murphy Express fuel stations. BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Up and down South Florida, garbage can be found along our streets, parking lots, and sidewalks.A Boynton Beach man and his group of volunteers, known as the "Litter Hikers of America," are trying to reverse the trend to create a litter-free environment.Sunrises in sunny South Florida are a special moment."Really nice and calming for me. I enjoy it," said Richard Reyes. "This is my coffee right here."Reyes takes it in every morning before checking his tools, supplies, and his route for the day."Going to be a very good day. Hope to get lots of litter," said Reyes.On this day, he and his crew were on Federal Highway in Boynton Beach."When I walk, I do the median and crew does the sides," said Reyes, who was joined by his friends Suzie and Shawn.They have quite a few fans. The three of them search the streets, sidewalks, and parking lots."I have a facemask, gloves," said Reyes as he picked up trash.There are bad surprises and sometimes good. On this day the Publix parking lot was clean.No matter the weather, Reyes is out there."Six times a week. Sometimes seven," said Reyes.Reyes has been picking up trash since his days on the west coast of Florida, back when life threw him a curveball."Aortic valve replacement and an aneurism repaired," said Reyes.Following his recovery, Reyes started walking and gathering trash."I can’t go long distances like I used to. So walking is very healthy for me and that’s a big reason why I do it," said Reyes. "I came out here and continue the effort in Boynton Beach."At the end of his cleanups, he weighs his garbage. He collects data too."43,200 pounds of litter this year," said Reyes.Proof that Reyes has a long journey ahead of him, but he knows each step along South Florida’s streets, inches him closer to his goal. A goal of a clean, litter-free environment."Call it a sport if you will. Walking, stretching, picking up litter. Can’t beat it," said Reyes.Reyes is now retired and plans to do his clean-ups as long as he can.
