Top North Korean officials warned the United States in a letter that denuclearization talks are "again at stake and may fall apart," sources familiar with the process told CNN.The letter was delivered to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who abruptly canceled his fourth trip to Pyongyang, hours before he was scheduled to depart with his new special envoy Stephen Biegun on Friday, sources said.Three sources with direct knowledge of the North Korean position on denuclearization said the letter stated that Kim's regime felt that the process couldn't move forward because "the US is still not ready to meet (North Korean) expectations in terms of taking a step forward to sign a peace treaty."The US has so far been unwilling to replace the armistice agreement that ended the Korean War with a permanent, legally binding peace treaty, which would require the approval of two-thirds of the US Senate. If a compromise cannot be reached and nascent talks crumble, Pyongyang could resume "nuclear and missile activities," the sources said. The existence of the letter, sent to Pompeo by Kim Yong Chol, the former head of North Korea's spy agency, was first reported by the Washington Post. The Post, which characterized the letter as a "secret" communication, said it wasn't clear how Kim had gotten the letter to Pompeo, but suggested that it may have been sent through its UN mission. However, Pompeo has been relying on other backchannels, as opposed to dealing directly with his diplomatic counterpart North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, one source said."Before and after Pompeo became the Secretary of State, he seemed to be more interested in maintaining and engaging with Kim Yong Chol through a backdoor channel, rather than with his formal counterpart Ri Yong Ho," said the source. 1809

There is a nationwide voluntary recall of almost 19,000 bottles of hand sanitizer over concerns the mixture contains methanol. The Food and Drug Administration announced Monday the company ITECH361 is recalling their All Clean Hand Sanitizer, Moisturizer and Disinfectant sold in one liter bottles. The 18,940 recalled bottles have UPC Code 628055370130.According to the FDA, substantial exposure to methanol (wood alcohol) can cause nausea, vomiting, headache, blurred vision, and more serious conditions including death. There are no reports at this time of anyone getting sick from the recalled sanitizer. This may sound familiar. Last month, the FDA warned people about sanitizer from the manufacturer Eskbiochem SA de CV in Mexico Because of possible methanol concerns. The ITECH361 product was distributed around the country to distributors and retailers. Retailers are encouraged to pull it from their shelves, those who purchased it are asked to stop using it and return the product for a refund.Consumers with questions regarding this recall can contact Corina Enriquez by phone number (888)405-4442 or e-mail at corina@itech361.com, Monday through Friday beginning July 6, 9:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (MDT). Thousands of California's weary wine country residents are confronting yet another devastating wildfire. The Glass Fire has scorched more than 66 square miles and destroyed about 95 structures. It's the fourth major fire in three years in the Napa-Sonoma area. The region is nearing the third anniversary of a 2017 wildfire that killed 22 people. For many, seeing the blaze come over the iconic ridges was a painful reminder of the losses in 2017. The sheriff acknowledged “fire fatigue." Further north, a wildfire burning in rural Shasta County has killed three people and destroyed nearly 150 buildings.Since the beginning of the year, there have been over 8,100 wildfires that have burned well over 3.8 million acres in California, Cal Fire said. This wildfire season has claimed the lives of 29 people after three more people died in the Zogg fire this week. 871
