SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspect was arrested Sunday morning after reportedly stealing someone’s car and stabbing the owner who tried to prevent the theft.According to police, the incident happened around 9:10 a.m. on the 2800 block of Jarvis Street in Point Loma.When the owner of the car tried to stop the man, the suspect stabbed the victim. Police say the suspect then drove to the Fashion Valley Comprehensive Treatment Center to get help.RELATED: Car slams into house in San Diego's Skyline neighborhoodA short time later, the suspect was picked up by two other people in a red Ford SUV before police stopped the three at Ocean Beach and took them all into custody.The suspect was eventually arrested and the other two people in the SUV released. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An East San Diego County military wife whose husband is accused of poisoning her with thallium is facing intensive rehabilitation, according to a GoFundMe account in her name.Race Uto, 27, was arrested in March on suspicion of giving his wife Brigida the heavy metal, which is found in rat poison and ant killers.A search warrant obtained by 10News indicated Brigida Uto had been sick since September 2017 and did not know the cause. She suffered weakness and hair loss, and was eventually near death, according to the warrant.RELATED: East San Diego County man suspected of poisoning his wifeDoctors determined Brigida ingested the Thallium, which was found in ‘extreme levels’ in her system when she was admitted to the hospital.The FBI, NCIS and San Diego County HazMat determined Brigida had been poisoned by someone with access to her food and drinks.Investigators searched the couple’s home in Dulzura and confiscated laptops, a coffee blender, four cups and other electronics.The warrant also shows that Race had an affair while he was deployed in the Navy and that the couple had gone through counseling.RELATED: Warrant reveals troubled marriage in poisoning caseRace told detectives he has no idea how his wife came into contact with the poison. She also said she had no idea who would want to hurt her.Brigida suffered significant nerve damage and doctors are unsure if she will regain feeling in her legs. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A unique way to watch movies outdoors is coming to San Diego's waters.Floating Cinema is coming to San Diego on Sept. 2 - 6, organizers say. Tickets will go on sale here.The cinema will include 12 to 24 mini boats that can hold up to eight people per boat. Tickets will require individuals to purchase the entire boat to make sure groups are seated with friends and family only, and to allow for distancing between boats.Throughout the week, the cinema will screen a mix between golden oldies and new releases that will be announced when tickets go on sale. Popcorn will be offered for free, while other movie snacks and drinks will be made available for purchase.Ticket options and movie screening details will be released closer to the event. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego pilot is attempting a historic flight to promote global peace. Robert DeLaurentis will first be traveling to the South Pole and then to the North Pole, connecting the only two places on the planet where peace exists. "It's a mission of global peace. We like to say oneness. One planet, one people, one plane," said DeLaurentis.They have been working on upgrading the 1983 aircraft for several years now; DeLaurentis named it Citizen of the World. "It's like taking a classic car and turning it into a race car. It's been talking to us, letting us know what needs to be fixed or replaced," DeLaurentis says.It's not the first time DeLaurentis has attempted an ambitious journey. In 2015, he circumnavigated the globe, braving a failing engine at one point. "My dad says he'd prefer I have a country club membership than do these flights!" jokes DeLaurentis.But it was on that trip he learned no matter where you live, we're all more similar than we may think. DeLaurentis will be the first to complete the journey with this class of airplane. And will also be the first to use biofuel over the poles, which is better for the environment.He'll have a NASA experiment on board and will also be testing the air for pollutants every step of the way.DeLaurentis will face harsh conditions in the South Pole, like extreme winds and weather fronts. But despite the dangers, he says this is what he's meant to do."People work hard, and they get to the point where they decide they want to do some other things, for me, it's just to go out in the world and maybe make a difference. So I'll take my chances."The San Diego pilot is getting help from over 90 sponsors to make the trip a reality.
