(KGTV) – A man died after saving his son when the boat they were on capsized, according to San Diego County sheriff’s officials.The incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday off Saxon Road in Potrero, officials said.10News learned a man and his 11-year-old son were on a boat looking for frogs when the vessel capsized, sending them into the water.The man was able to save his son by putting him back into the boat, but officials said the man drowned.Officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. 537

(KGTV) -- Poway residents are expressing concern after Stoneridge Country Club closed without notice Wednesday morning.The club closed after voters defeated a measure Tuesday which would have rezoned the property to allow owner Michael Schlesinger to replace part of the club with 180 new condos.One member told 10News "I want the people of Poway to realize that it’s not just about losing golf. It’s about our home values and losing our history that we’ve had here for so long.”Her home sits directly adjacent to the course. She's concerned Schlesinger will stop maintaining the property, turning it into a major fire hazard.Several other residents also expressed worries about vagrants setting up camps on the vacant course and that overgrowth could lead to a spread of coyotes in the area.Those fears are stoked, the residents say, by what has happened at the Escondido Country Club, also owned by Schlesinger.The club has gone to waste in the four years since he made the decision to close it and Poway residents worry they're about to be victims of the same fate.Club members tell 10News there has been no communication from Stoneridge about the closure.Many members paid their 2018 dues in advance and fear Schlesinger will not refund their money.10News contacted a spokesperson for Schlesinger, who replied with a statement:"We are on day 2 of the process of closing a business that has been open for 60 years. POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Polk County, Florida are on the hunt for the man who allegedly pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle at over 75 miles per hour.Deputies say Remond Brown, 44, and his girlfriend got into an argument at dinner because she was on Facebook.According to deputies, the argument continued while the two were driving back to Pinellas Park. They say things turned physical, and that Brown slapped and punched the victim, with a closed fist, multiple times on the face.Witnesses in other vehicles advised that the suspect vehicle was driving erratically westbound on Highway 60 in Lake Wales. That's when deputies say Brown reached over and opened the victim's door and pushed her out of the car while traveling at highway speeds, approximately 75-80 mph, per the witness accounts.Two witnesses stopped to helped the victim."Other travelers on the road stopped to help the victim, but not Remond," the Polk County Sheriff's office said on Facebook. "He did stop, but only to look back at the victim and yell, 'Blank this blank', before getting back into the car, and driving off. And no, 'blank' was not the word he used."Deputies said the victim was clearly distraught and made multiple statements to the witnesses that "he was going to kill me, he is going to kill me, don't leave me he will kill me." Brown left the scene in the victim's Black 2017 Honda Accord. The vehicle has a Florida license plate with tag number 717TDH. Brown is approximately 5-foot-4-inches tall and weighs roughly 170 pounds.Deputies say that there is a history of physical violence and Brown has a history of run-ins with the law, ranging from charges of grand theft to murder.The Polk County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for his arrest with charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, Battery (Domestic Violence), Violation of an Injunction, and Grand Theft Motor Vehicle pending.  1948
