More than 1,000 aftershocks of magnitude 1.5 or greater have shaken Alaska since Friday's big quake knocked out power, ripped open roads and splintered buildings in Anchorage, US Geological Survey geophysicist Randy Baldwin said Sunday.The majority were of a magnitude of 2.5 or weaker, meaning they weren't likely felt. NASA said that astronauts successfully grew radishes on board the International Space Station for the first time in NASA history.The plants are being placed in cold storage to be examined when astronauts return from the space station in 2021.NASA says that the radishes reached maturity in 27 days, and are fully edible and nutritious.“Radishes are a different kind of crop compared to leafy greens that astronauts previously grew on the space station, or dwarf wheat which was the first crop grown in the APH,” said Nicole Dufour, NASA APH program manager at Kennedy Space Center. “Growing a range of crops helps us determine which plants thrive in microgravity and offer the best variety and nutritional balance for astronauts on long-duration missions.”Growing plants on board could be an important step in order to send astronauts to Mars and beyond. MISSION BEACH (CNS) - A man robbed a Subway sandwich shop in Mission Beach Saturday afternoon, police said.Police were told a little before 1 p.m. that a man in his 30s had walked into a the Subway on West Mission Bay Drive near Mission Boulevard and threatened the clerk, San Diego Police Officer Sarah Foster said.The man "simulated" having a weapon in his pocked and demanded money, Foster said. The clerk complied and the man left the business on foot. He was last seen heading north away from the store.The suspect was described only as a man in his 30s, according to Foster. A man was wanted in a similar robbery of a Subway last Sunday, though detectives weren't available for comment on whether the two cases were related.The robber in the Sunday case was also described as a man in his 30s and reportedly simulated having a gun in his waistband. That same suspect was wanted for two other robberies of Game Stop stores, one on Sunday and the other on Wednesday, Dec. 19. 987

Nasim Aghdam, the woman accused of shooting and injuring multiple people at YouTube headquarters in San Bruno before turning the gun on herself, drove up from San Diego, according to KRON.Authorities said they believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. KRON reports that the woman shot her boyfriend and that the others injured were caught in the crossfire. Officials in San Bruno said Tuesday afternoon that three people were wounded and the suspect died of a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.Police were called to the headquarters just before 1 p.m. and were on scene within two minutes.After arriving on scene, officers found a wounded victim outside the building before encountering a second person, who was likely a suspect, shot from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Officers later found two others wounded in a nearby business, officials said. Helicopter video shows hundreds of people running out of the building with their hands up after shots reportedly rang out.A witness reported hearing as many as 20 shots, according to KRON. MOUNT PLEASANT, Wisc. — A Wisconsin woman claims a billion Foxconn factory could threaten her dream home. Kimberly Mahoney says her family spent nearly 0,000 customizing their dream home. Her house rests where the new Foxconn development will be. Her comments come before a public hearing detailing plans, which is set for Tuesday night.Village President Dave DeGroot, who calls the billion investment a once in a generation opportunity, says the homes in the development and road improvement areas are being purchased at 140-percent market value. But Mahoney claims her home is not in the road improvement zone where she must agree to sell. She claims the village is trying to "skirt the law" by declaring her property as a blighted area on the development site."This area doesn't qualify for the new definition of blight that the Wisconsin Legislature put in Chapter 32 that says the properties are dilapidated or deteriorated, or run down, or are a safety or health risk," said Mahoney."I don't think its fair to characterize it that we are skirting any laws," said DeGroot. "We are being very upfront, very forthright, very transparent with how we are going about this process. There is a statutory process that we follow and we'll continue to do that.""I think they've tried to bully people and be intimidating and say this is all we're going to give you and if you don't take it you'll get less," claimed Mahoney."Our hope is that we'll be successful with all the land acquisition and people will be going away happy," said DeGroot.The village attorney plans to give a presentation before public comment at  5 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Village Hall.Mahoney showed us the seven pages of notes she plans to read aloud at the public hearing.  1855
