SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego woman is taking legal action against a trendy hair product company, claiming it caused her severe hair loss and bald spots. She’s not alone. Women around the country are claiming similar effects. They blame their hair care nightmares on Monat Global, based in Florida.“It’s been so hard,” says San Diego’s Dana Sohovich. She held back tears as she spoke exclusively with 10News about her experience. Sohovich has filed a class action lawsuit against the company, alleging it falsely promised her “longer, fuller, stronger” hair. Her suit accuses Monat of “false and deceptive advertising”.“I literally had almost a baseball size [ball] of hair in my hand,” she tells us, adding, “It's devastating.”PHOTOS: Monat users report hair and scalp damageTemecula’s Ashley Slayden showed us her daughter’s scalp. “You can see the bald spots [on] her head. You can see how thin it is. It was never that thin,” she adds. Slayden tells us she and her kids starting using the product in the fall. “I bought it at wholesale and I spent seventy dollars,” she adds. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A UC San Diego fraternity was suspended as the school investigates multiple sexual assault allegations against some of its members. According to a report by The UCSD Guardian campus newspaper, at least four female students claimed they were sexually assaulted by members of the Sigma Chi fraternity in incidents over the course of the academic year. Details of the accusations came to light during sorority meetings last month, where chapter residents read written accounts from the alleged victims. An anonymous student who was at one of the meetings told the school newspaper that one woman claimed she was drugged at a Sigma Chi party when a fraternity member handed her a spiked drink that rendered her unconscious. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Active military members are saying thank you to those who have served by delivering food to veterans in honor of Veterans Day.The servicemen and women partnered with Meals on Wheels to deliver the food Monday.Meals on Wheels serves about 500 veterans a day. Many of them can't leave their homes. Local Navy members say they decided to help deliver the items to say thank you for their service. "It's everyone's responsibility to take care of the previous generations," says Petty Officer First Class Ryian Harris. He served in World War II and was then shipped to Korea. He says it's nice to have the active service members think of him this Veteran's Day. "It's special, very special," says Keller. Gavin Newsom to reopen Disneyland Resort theme parks.According to the Voice of Orange County website, Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu said the city is looking at a 0 million budget deficit. Sidhu added that half of the city's general fund budget comes from Disneyland's revenue and the Anaheim Convention Center.The city is now asking Newsom to issue COVID-related health guidelines for theme parks.USA Today reported park officials believe theme parks have been left waiting on the sidelines while other parts of the state economy have reopened. Anaheim is currently in Stage 2 of its reopening plan, which excludes theme parks.Both Disneyland and Universal Studios in Southern California shut their doors to the public in mid-March after Newsom's order to suspend large gatherings.California theme park officials say they've had time to work on reopening plans that would allow them to safely welcome guests.
