SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Disney fans who have been waiting to experience Ballast Point's next project in Anaheim will get to this month.The Ballast Point Brewpub is set to open in Downtown Disney on Jan. 16, offering a family-friendly brewery just outside the walls of Disneyland and California Adventure.The 4,000-square-foot location spots a glass-enclosed bar and restaurant, a 3,000-square-foot beer garden with cabana-style seating, and more than 50 varieties of the brewery's beers.RELATED: Disneyland raising prices for tickets, parking“Ballast Point is born and raised in Southern California, so we’re particularly excited to strengthen our relationship with the local Anaheim community and beyond this, the many guests who visit Disneyland each year,” Ben Dollard, president of Ballast Point, said in a release. “This new location also gives our passionate brewing and culinary teams the perfect place to test new and inventive offerings, as we welcome longtime Ballast Point fans and introduce new guests to our brand.”The Anaheim location will also feature limited-edition "research and development" brews exclusive to the Downtown Disney location, in addition to Ballast Point favorites.On the food side, the location will offer a mix of regional favorites, like Baja-style fish tacos and house-made pretzels, and a kids menu featuring chicken tenders, corn tortilla quesadilla, and grilled cheese. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - For the first time since his arrest, the La Jolla restaurant owner charged with rape is speaking publicly. Daniel Dorado is testifying in his defense.Eight women have come forward saying Dorado drugged and sexually assaulted them over the course of a decade. The owner of the Voce del Mar restaurant in Birdrock faces 35 felony charges for allegedly raping women after drugging their drinks. "She was interested in being alone with me," said Dorado. "She initiated the physical contact."Prosecutors say in at least two of the cases, a sexual relationship occurred after the women got visibly sick and threw up. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Five dogs died during a fire at a former kennel in Lakeside early Sunday morning. The fire broke out on the 8700 block of Winter Gardens Boulevard around 3 a.m., according to the Lakeside Fire Protection District. The house used to be a functioning kennel, but the woman who lives in the home was either pet sitting or storing the animal for residents at the time of the fire, the district says. RELATED: Mother, father killed in Logan Heights house fireA total of eight dogs were inside the home when the blaze sparked. Five of the dogs and a parrot died in the blaze. Crews say the fire started downstairs in the two-story home. The department says the age of the home made it difficult to fight the blaze. “Old structures are lath and plaster, they’re difficult to fight fires because the fires are get deep in the walls. So it takes a long time to put those out. There is a lot of stuff inside of the home as well. So moving hoselines inside of the house is very difficult as well,” according to Bernard Molloy with Lakeside Fire. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hundreds are getting tested for coronavirus before Thanksgiving hoping to keep their family safe. Medical experts say it's not necessarily going to work.The lines were hours long in front of a Linda Vista testing site, just as long at sites around the county Sunday."There's a worrisome reason for that, people are planning to go visit their older relatives and they think they're going to be 100% safe," Dr. Davey Smith, Chief of Infectious Diseases at UC San Diego said getting tested Sunday or any day leading up to Thanksgiving could give you a false negative."If I get tested now, it doesn't mean that I'm not infected, it just means that I'm not actively shedding the virus," Smith said.According to the CDC the incubation period for the virus is 2-14 days."I thought Halloween was going to be the scary part of the year but November, December, January are just going to be really tough I think. Well, Vi, a senior living residence in La Jolla, is using a pilot program from Candoo Tech, which is aimed at getting older adults, like 98-year-old resident Randy Tidmore, over the fear of going online.
