NEW YORK — Shake Shack employees have been cleared of any criminality after three police officers were sickened by drinks from a Lower Manhattan location Monday night, according to the NYPD."After a thorough investigation by the NYPD's Manhattan South investigators, it has been determined that there was no criminality by Shake Shack's employees," NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison tweeted just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.According to police sources, it appeared a machine at the chain's Fulton Center location was improperly cleaned, resulting in the residue of a cleaning agent or bleach remaining inside when it was used to make beverages for the police officers.The investigation came after three Bronx officers, assigned to a protest detail in Lower Manhattan, became ill after drinking beverages from the restaurant.PBA President Pat Lynch said the police officers were hospitalized but were expected to be okay.The Detectives' Endowment Association initially claimed on Twitter Monday night that officers were "intentionally poisoned" by workers at the Shake Shack location, a claim the NYPD did not corroborate early Tuesday. 1143

NEWPORT, N.C. (KGTV) - A North Carolina woman is due in court Wednesday on suspicion of cutting off her husband’s penis. Victoria Frabutt, 56, is charged with malicious castration and kidnapping in connection with her husband, 61-year-old James Frabutt. Carteret County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the couple’s home in Newport at 4 a.m. Tuesday. Frabutt said his wife tied him up and pulled out a knife. “Deputies were able to recover the body part where it was immediately put on ice and transported to medical personnel,” deputies reported online. James Frabutt was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown, deputies said. Victoria Frabutt is being held on 0,000 bail. NEW YORK -- A suspended NYPD officer is now facing criminal charges after using an apparent chokehold during a now-viral arrest in Queens last Sunday.Officer David Afanador has been charged with attempted aggravated strangulation and strangulation in the second degree, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Thursday.The 39-year-old cop, who has a history of complaints against him, was arrested and booked at his own Queens precinct just after 9 a.m. Thursday, according to police.If convicted, Afanador faces up to seven years in prison, the DA's office said.DA Katz acknowledged that body-camera footage shows the officers being cursed at and badgered before the incident.
