United States Army recruiters around the country will participate in the Army's first nationwide, virtual hiring campaign with the goal of attracting 10,000 new soldiers over three days next week.The campaign will last from June 30-July 2, according to a news release from the U.S. Army.“This is a concerted effort across those three days that really gets everybody in the Army on board," LTC Brittany Simmons, Commander, Indianapolis Army Recruiting Battalion told theindychannel.com. "So you’re going to see the commanding generals at Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, Fort Drum, all of them are going to be involved," Simmons continued. "And so it’s that total Army effort. And while there’s an element that’s ambitious with us, that’s what the Army likes. The pair were last seen at 5:45 a.m. Saturday in Upland, California, which is in San Bernardino County. Brandon Alexander is considered to be armed and dangerous.Brandon Alexander may have also taken the child's mother, according to Upland Police. Police say she is a white female in her early thirties. She has a restraining order against him, police said.Brandon Alexander is described as 5' 10" and 240 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy said Tuesday that the USPS will not implement operational changes to mail delivery until after the 2020 election."...there are some longstanding operational initiatives — efforts that predate my arrival at the Postal Service — that have been raised as areas of concern as the nation prepares to hold an election in the midst of a devastating pandemic," DeJoy said in a statement. "To avoid even the appearance of any impact on election mail, I am suspending these initiatives until after the election is concluded."DeJoy also said that the USPS would not remove any mail processing equipment or mailboxes and would not close any mail processing facilities between now and the election. The statement did not address whether the agency would restore services or equipment that had been cut prior to Tuesday.DeJoy, a longtime ally and donor to President Donald Trump took over as Postmaster General in June. Since that time, he's instituted several changes that customers and workers have said have led to delays in mail delivery, including the elimination of overtime. Tropical Storm Epsilon has strengthened into a Category 1 hurricane.As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, Epsilon is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph.This general motion is expected to continue tonight, followed by a slightly slower west-northwestward motion on Wednesday.A turn toward the north-northwest is expected on Thursday.On the forecast track, Epsilon is forecast to move closer to Bermuda on Thursday and make its closest approach to the island on Thursday night.Epsilon now has maximum sustained winds near 75 mph with higher gusts.
