Libertarian candidate Shane Hazel was able to get enough votes to prevent either candidate from clearing the 50% threshold needed for an outright win. The contest has already seen huge spending from outside groups on both sides and millions of dollars more are expected to pour into the state ahead of the runoff. Recently, 90 million people had their Facebook account’s breached. Many are still trying to log back into their page, but are unsuccessful in their attempts. Cyber experts say you should first focus on protecting your personal information that could have been compromised. Tekesha Saffold realized her account was breached when she logged in, but soon realized it wasn’t her account. She reached out to Facebook by phone, but she got an automated recording directing her to their troubleshooting page online. “I have no access to my account at this point, and it has all my information in it,” Saffold says. Saffold completed the steps Facebook told her to take in order to gain access back into her account, but it didn’t work.Cyber expert Fred Kneip, with Cyber GRX, says the most important thing to do is figure out what other accounts you sign into using your Facebook credentials. “The first things hackers do is take those passwords or credentials,” he explains. Hackers try to apply those passwords to banking sites and healthcare sites to get more information, and ultimately, steal your identity. That’s why Kneip says to focus on your passwords.“If you are updating your passwords and using unique passwords, that’s the safest way to address this,” Kneip says.He also suggests turning on the dual-factor notification on Facebook. It sends you a text with a set of numbers you have to plug into get into your account, along with your password. He says it’s twice the protection.   1592

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. -- A 5-month-old boy was sent to an intensive care unit at The John Hopkins Hospital after enduring the kind of attack that many grown adults have not.The attack on Garrison Bailey Borkoski happened just after 1 a.m. Saturday as he and his mother slept in a house on Chapman Road in Randallstown, Maryland.“That adult, at some point and time, got up and went to the bathroom and that’s when the 5-month-old was bitten by a dog in the house, a pit bull,” said Det. Robert Reason of the Baltimore County Police Department. “There were actually several pit bulls in the home at the time this occurred.”There were four pit bulls in the home, which the owner would later tell police have no cages and typically have their roam of the interior of the house.Both mother and child had only moved in a week or two earlier.“There are no charges pending right now,” said Reason. “Based on the investigation, there is no indication that anybody had any intent to cause harm to the child at all, so there are no charges pending right now.”In the aftermath of the attack, paramedics found the baby covered in blood and motionless, but still breathing.It was later determined that Garrison had suffered a large laceration to the top of his head and lacerations to his neck, as well as puncture wounds to the rest of his body, but miraculously, just fours days after the attack, doctors released him from the hospital.“Right now, fortunately, the 5-month-old is home and recovering and doing well, so we’re very, very happy about that,” said Reason.According to the Baltimore County Department of Health, the owners surrendered the four pit bulls, allowing them to be euthanized, but it was later determined only two of the dogs had actually attacked the child.The other two were returned to the owners.This story was originally published by Jeff Hager at WMAR. 1871

(AP) — California authorities have returned a pet tortoise to its owner after the wandering animal was spotted in another resident's backyard.The Record Searchlight reported the 41-year-old tortoise named Dino ambled away after a storm blew open the latch on its outdoor enclosure in Red Bluff.An animal regulation officer says the tortoise was found about a half-mile (0.8 kilometers) from the home of owner Cindy Haase.Authorities used watermelon to lure the 150-pound (68-kilogram) tortoise before lifting it into a vehicle for transport.Tehama County sheriff's deputies and the state forestry and fire protection department helped return Dino to Haase.Tortoise Acres Rescue and Sanctuary owner Katie Hoffman says this is breeding season and roaming pet tortoises seeking companionship are "a daily occurrence this time of year." 856
