KENOSHA, Wis. — A Wisconsin high school teacher is on paid leave after students recorded her using a racial slur on camera during class.The teacher can be heard repeatedly using the “N-word” several times while students in the class laugh. The parent of the student who took the video told WTMJ the incident started when a student at Bradford High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin used the word with another student.That’s when the parent said the teacher used the slur and said that she should be able to use it because it is used within the African-American community. At Tuesday’s Kenosha Unified School District board meeting, representatives from the community’s Coalition for Dismantling Racism spoke about the incident.“Our concern is the total lack of action from the administration. This should have been addressed immediately. Especially when several students stated how uncomfortable they were in the classroom. KGTV - The Department of Fair Employment and Housing has filed a civil rights lawsuit on behalf of an Oceanside woman who says her life is threatened by the chemicals the North County Transit District uses for weeds.Judy Kane has multiple chemical sensitivities and says she has trouble breathing along with going outside anytime the NCTD sprays herbicides around the tracks near her house.“I call it shelter in place,” said Kane, “I cannot do my normal day to day activities.”Kane had a reasonable accommodation agreement made roughly 10 years ago via email with NCTD and the agency used to weed wack the four block row near her house instead of using chemicals.However, at the end of 2016 NCTD began spraying again, dissolving their agreement.The lawsuit is asking NCTD to stop using the chemicals in the area around Kane’s home and also pay Kane’s expenses from medical episodes which occurred after the spraying began.NCTD did not return 10News request for comment. 977

LA JOLLA (CNS) - A woman's body was found Sunday on the shoreline below cliffs in La Jolla, police said.At 6:40 a.m., someone found the body about 75 feet below the cliffs near Coast Walk, north of Torrey Pines Road, according to Officer Tony Martinez of the San Diego Police Department.Lifeguards recovered the body, which was taken with a Jet Ski to La Jolla Shores, where they met with officials from the county Medical Examiner's Office.There was no additional information on the victim, Martinez said. 514

Just some lucky ducks.After a call from a man who saw a momma duck quaking for help near a street drain grate, Charles County officers came to the rescue.It appeared that the momma duck was hysterically quacking because all nine of her baby ducks had fallen into the drain and could not get out.That's when Charles County Officer Mohler opened the gate on one side while Officer Coulby guarded the other side to save the ducklings. They were able to get five of the baby ducks out of the hole but struggled to get the others.A good Samaritan named Chad Marshell intervened and saved the day as he crawled 200 feet in the hole to guide the other baby ducks toward Mohler.All of the nine ducklings were reunited with their momma duck. 770
