China's Ambassador to the UK Liu Xiaoming said on Thursday that Britain has become a key partner in delivering President Xi Jinping's international development and infrastructure plan.

China will pay close attention to the impact caused by US tariffs and help both domestic and foreign companies overcome difficulties. China has the confidence, ability and solutions to maintain steady economic growth, said Gao Feng, a spokesman for the ministry.  

China will step up efforts to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and improve its energy consumption mix to ensure improved air quality. It plans to cut carbon emissions per unit of GDP by 60-65 percent by 2030 from 2005 levels, while investing 2.5 trillion yuan (6 billion) in renewable energy by 2020, according to the National Energy Administration.

China's Ministry of Commerce has forecast strong growth in consumption this year with deepening supply-side structural reform.
