President Donald Trump Saturday threatened to withhold federal aid from California to assist with relief from wildfires burning up and down the state.Trump blamed the state's "poor" forest management for the devastation caused by the wildfires."There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!" Trump tweeted. 547

Puppies being rescued in Seattle quickly became rescuers for panicking airline passengers. The dogs were on the way to Detroit when an airline employee stole a plane at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, resulting in the delay of several outbound flights. A Michigan volunteer was stuck at the airport with the nine puppies, which brought peace to a chaotic situation.“We knew something was happening at the airport, we didn’t really know,” said Steve Heim, a Detroit Metro Airport employee. Heim volunteers with an animal rescue and was in Seattle Friday to bring nine Spanish greyhound puppies to metro Detroit. He was taking a red-eye and quickly realized something was wrong at the airport. An airline employee had stolen a plane on what officials say was a suicide mission. “I said ‘uh-oh this is not good,’” Heim said. He knew his flight and many other flights would be delayed due to the incident. But he was traveling alone, caring for nine puppies at the airport, waiting for the next flight which was more than six hours later. “People were yelling and screaming at all the customer service agents," Heim said. "People were crying. There were thousands of people in the airport.”That's when the puppies came out of the crate and Heim said passengers flocked to them for comfort. “It was nice because nobody will remember what they were really there for just a moment or what had happened,” Heim said.A GoFundMe page has been set up for the puppies here: www.gofundme.com/spanish-galgo-rescueFor more information on Serenity Animal Hospital, visit www.serenityanimalhospital.net. 1649

RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) - A Ramona couple walking their yellow Labrador puppy say they were attacked by two pit bulls Tuesday night, suffering serious injuries.Michael Dougherty was walking with his wife, Dee, in the Kmart parking lot in the 1800 block of Main Street training their puppy, Rueger. Dougherty said it's easier in the parking lot, as there is more light, compared to their rural neighborhood. As they walked toward the Taco Shop, around 7:15 p.m., Dougherty said from the corner of his eye, he saw two pit bulls charging.RELATED: Dog and owner mauled by pit bull during walk in OceansideThey attacked Rueger and his wife, who went down trying to rescue the dog. Dougherty is recovering from a back injury and walks with a cane. He used it as a weapon."I just started beating the dog, beating the dog, until it [the cane] snapped. This fell down alongside the dog and my wife and she grabbed this and was jamming it into the dog's mouth. When this broke I started punching the dog in the head."Eventually they were able to separate all three dogs. No one escaped uninjured. Dougherty described his wife's wounds, "the top fang went in," gesturing at his left cheek, "and the bottom fang went under her chin like this."RELATED: Pit bull comes to defense of injured owner in apartment, chases away attackers"Both arms are bitten up quite a bit, I couldn't even count them there were so many," he continued, saying her hand bore the worst injury. "Her thumb was bitten three quarters of the way around," saying the skin had been pushed up, away from her hand. "She said she could see the bone, but I don't know about that."Dougherty suffered a bite to his hand as well.As he called 911, he saw the owner and the two pit bulls walking away."It's frustrating to think that he didn't have the courage to stand here and be responsible for what his animals did."RELATED: Family trying to save 'sweetest pit bull on earth' after authorities recommended it be euthanizedDougherty said they don't know how much his wife's emergency room trip will cost. They have a 0 veterinarian bill and said his wife is anxious when he leaves the house.Dougherty hoped by telling their story he would "make people aware and maybe get some information to get this wild animal off the street. He was plain vicious."Animal Control confirmed they have a dog in quarantine, and will have the couple identify Friday whether it's the same dog who attacked them.Dougherty has a GoFundMe set up to help with his wife's expenses. His son said she will be out of work while she recovers. 2572

President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, had his White House security clearance restored Wednesday, a person familiar with the matter said, after months of uncertainty stemming in part from his role in the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller.Kushner was stripped of his interim clearance in February amid an overhaul of procedures governing access to the nation's most sensitive secrets following the resignation of Rob Porter, the President's staff secretary, who had been allowed to remain in his post for months despite allegations of spouse abuse. The Mueller probe has also hung over Kushner's status in the White House, in part because some of the matters under investigation relate to his role during the campaign and the transition, including contacts with Russians, as well as events that occurred in the early months of the Trump presidency, such as the firing of former FBI Director James Comey. In April, Kushner met with Mueller's investigators for a second time and answered questions for seven hours, according to his attorney, Abbe Lowell. He had previously sat for an interview last November that was largely focused on former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who soon after pleaded guilty to charges of making false statements to the FBI.White House officials have blamed the delay in Kushner receiving his security clearance on administrative backlogs normal to a new administration, as well as the complicated nature of his application. But Kushner's troubles were compounded at least in part because his initial security clearance application didn't list dozens of foreign contacts that he later included in updated submissions to the FBI.Kushner's initial SF-86 form did not mention any foreign contacts, though he quickly supplemented it to indicate that he would provide that information. He updated the form in the spring, listing about 100 contacts, but did not mention the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting he attended with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Donald Trump Jr., and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. Kushner updated the SF-86 forms once more in June to include that meeting. 2191

President Donald Trump’s longtime former attorney Michael Cohen is now featured in an advertisement against the president. In the advertisement, Cohen warns voters that Trump “can’t be trusted.”While Cohen had a privileged glance of the president over the years, his creditability has taken a hit. In 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress. Cohen admitted he lied about plans to build a Trump Tower in Russia. The former personal lawyer was also actively involved in payments on Trump's behalf to porn star Storm Daniels, which the Southern District of New York investigated for alleged violations of campaign finance. No charges were filed in that case. The ad first ran on Night 1 of the Republican National Convention on Monday, and is sponsored by American Bridge 21st Century, which is backing Trump opponent Joe Biden in the upcoming election.“I was complicit in helping conceal the real Donald Trump. I was part of creating an illusion,” Cohen said"He can't be trusted and you shouldn't believe a word he utters," Cohen added. "So, when you watch the president, this week, remember this. If he says something is huge, it's probably small. If he says something will work, it probably won't.”Beyond the ad, Cohen is becoming a more vocal critic of the president. Cohen confirmed that he will be speaking to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow for an upcoming segment. Cohen is also releasing a book titled, “Disloyal: A Memoir: The True Story of the Former Personal Attorney to President Donald J. Trump” The book will release next month. The people who know Donald Trump best are sounding the alarm: our country cannot survive four more years of a Trump presidency. In our latest ad, a former member of his inner circle & "fixer" — @MichaelCohen212 — has a dire warning for us all. #RNC2020 pic.twitter.com/suPUODOdwz— American Bridge 21st Century (@American_Bridge) August 24, 2020 1892
