Dr. Robert Redfield, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, insisted Thursday that his agency would not be issuing new guidelines for reopening schools.Instead, Redfield said the CDC would be issuing additional resources that will assist schools as they attempt to reopen in the fall.During an interview on CNN, Redfield said that among the resources the CDC would be releasing in the next week were guidelines on spotting symptoms in students. EL CENTRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- The four Marines who died in a Marine Corps helicopter crash during a training mission in El Centro Tuesday have been identified.Military officials say Capt. Samuel A. Schultz, 28, of Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania; First Lt. Samuel D. Phillips, 27, of Pinehurst, North Carolina; Gunnery Sgt. Derik Holley, 33, of Dayton, Ohio; and Lance Cpl. Taylor J. Conrad, 24, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, all died in the crash.According to officials, the CH-53E Stallion helicopter took off from the Strategic Expeditionary Landing Field at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms to conduct squadron training.RELATED:  678

Dozens fetuses and infant remains were discovered during Detroit police raids on two metro Detroit cemeteries on Wednesday as part of the state's investigation into Perry Funeral Home.According to police, the raids were prompted by a tip that there were between 100 and 125 fetuses from Perry Funeral Home being stored at the cemetery.Officers say they discovered 27 sets of infant and fetal remains that had improper or missing paperwork from Knollwood Cemetery in Canton, Michigan and 17 from Gethsemane Cemetery in Detroit.In October, officers found 36 fetuses in cardboard boxes and 27 more in freezers from inside Perry Funeral Home in Detroit. The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs revoked the funeral home's license and shut down the facility. Earlier that month, police also discovered 11 infant bodies in the ceiling of Cantrell Funeral Home, also in Detroit. 928

EAST FREEHOLD, N.J. — A 3.1 magnitude earthquake was detected Wednesday morning in the Central New Jersey town of Freehold, according to the United States Geological Survey.The USGS detected the quake around 2 a.m. while the National Weather Service referred to the quake as a "small tremor" despite that it was felt in much of Central Jersey.The depth of the quake was reported as about 3.1 miles. There are no reports yet of any damage or injuries due to the earthquake.Hundreds of reports were coming in from as far as Philadelphia and Long Island, New York on the USGS' "Did You Feel It?" map.Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden said that about 125 non-emergency and 911 calls came in from residents who reported feeling and hearing the quake.Twitter user @BWf34, in Freehold, said it "felt like an explosion, then shaking. No obvious damage to house. Woke up the entire family."Twitter user @arorasa, in East Windsor, said the "whole house shook. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - Surveillance video has recently captured multiple incidents of what appears to be a thief returning over and over to prey upon elderly residents of the Salvation Army apartment building in El Cajon.Apartment staff at the building on South Anza Street say there have been at least five robberies between October and Christmas Eve. Each appears to include the same thief."He's the lowest form of life in my book," building superintendent Alex Harmon told 10News. "To prey on the elderly. They've got walkers for crying out loud."In one incident captured on video, the man approached a 97-year-old woman taking a walk on the sidewalk outside the building. He was seen opening her bag, which was placed on her walker, then removing an item and walking away.The woman later told building staff that he had struck up a conversation about her walker and that she had offered him candy. She says he opened her bag and instead of taking candy, stole her wallet.In a separate incident, the suspected thief and what appears to be a lookout are seen carefully observing an elderly woman walking by. One man then turned and followed her around the corner. She told 10News that's when he raced up and grabbed her gold necklace, breaking off her gold cross, and running off.Multiple police reports have been filed with El Cajon Police Department, which is investigating. 1389
