A video recently released shows a school bus getting swept away by floodwaters in Texas.The incident happened Oct. 16 near Austin after a driver drove past a barricade and attempted to cross a flooded area.The bus gets caught up in the water and floats down a creek before the driver completely loses control.A 12-year-old student was a passenger on the bus as it finally came to rest on the side of a few trees.Emergency responders rescued the driver and the student.Officials report the driver has since been fired and is facing charges. 552

Police say they received reports that a 50-year-old male had just broken into a garage and stole several items, including two weed trimmers before taking off on a bike. He dropped the lawn tools after encountering police and rode awat. According to a post from the Springfield Police Department, the first officer followed him in his patrol car until backup arrived and started chasing him on foot.That's where the young All-Stars come into play.  Police say the kids were playing basketball nearby and one of them "threw a basketball across the roadway at the suspect, striking him, causing him to wreck his bicycle in the grass."Officers were then able to book the suspect into custody for burglary.  1033

A North Carolina pastor who led a march to the polls over the weekend that ended with police pepper-spraying participants says he will lead another march on Election Day.On Saturday, Rev. Greg Drumwright led the "I Am Change" march in Graham, North Carolina, from a local AME Church to the Alamance County Courthouse.According to the Raleigh News & Observer, the march included a moment of silence for George Floyd, who was killed during an arrest in Minnesota this summer and whose death sparked a nationwide protest movement against police brutality.Following that moment of silence, the News & Observer reports that deputies and police officers used pepper spray on the crowd and began arresting participants. At least one journalist covering the event was arrested.Some participants told the News & Observer that they were given little warning as to the officer's decision to shut down the event. The Associated Press reports that Graham Police say they issued several warnings to the crowd to move from the roadway before releasing pepper spraying and later arresting eight people.On Sunday, Drumwright confirmed in a TV interview that he intends to finish the march on Election Day. A recent study published Tuesday in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine found that most Americans are still susceptible to COVID-19.According to the study, researchers studied the blood samples of 177,919 Americans across the nation, D.C., and Puerto Rico between July 27 and Sept. 24. They found that fewer than 10% of the people had detectable COVID antibodies."In this U.S. nationwide seroprevalence cross-sectional study, we found that as of September 2020, most persons in the US did not have detectable SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, and seroprevalence estimates varied widely by jurisdiction," the authors concluded. "Continued biweekly testing of sera collected by commercial laboratories will allow for assessment of the changing epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 in the U.S. in the coming months. Our results reinforce the need for continued public health preventive measures, including the use of face masks and social distancing, to limit the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in the U.S."Researchers noted that Seroprevalence varied between metropolitan/nonmetropolitan areas and across regions, with estimates as high as 23% in the northeast, 13% in the south, and forecasts in the midwest and west were less than 10%.The researchers also found that Seroprevalence was often lowest in older age groups. 1295

A rare albino deer was caught on video at a park in Oakland County, Michigan over the weekend.The video, posted by Mick McDonald, shows the albino deer in Kensington Metropark in Milford.A photo posted to the Pure Michigan Instagram page in early December also shows an albino deer in Kensington park.
