SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Target cash registers suffered a nationwide outage Saturday, leaving some customers around the country sitting in line for hours. The company's corporate office said an "internal technology issue" shut down registers for about two hours Saturday, preventing customers from making purchases in store.Target added that the technology issue was not a data breach or security-related issue and that customer data was no compromised. By 2:30 p.m., Target said their systems were back online:"Target’s registers are fully back online and guests are able to purchase their merchandise again in all stores. The temporary outage earlier today was the result of an internal technology issue that lasted for approximately two hours. Our technology team worked quickly to identify and fix the issue, and we apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this caused for our guests. After an initial but thorough review, we can confirm that this was not a data breach or security-related issue, and no guest information was compromised at any time. We appreciate all of our store team members who worked quickly to assist guests and thank everyone involved for their patience."10News has reached out to Target to see how many stores in San Diego were affected by the outage, but have not heard back.Twitter users across the country took to chronicle their "#TargetDown" experience online, ranging from long wait times, abandoning carts full of groceries, and some checking in — and out — of work at a location as the outage continued.#targetdown I was able to get out in a little over an hour because my cashier would not give up. He had to scan every single item at least 10 times but it worked. They are still turning away people at the door. pic.twitter.com/jbEzBcIjmj— Naomi Thompson ?? (@NaominotNyomi) June 15, 2019I moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn this morning faster than I can check out at @Target. #TargetDown pic.twitter.com/Eko97zgXBS— tanya (@thetiebandit) June 15, 2019I was at Target. Seems to be no end in site for the register outage or the forming lines. I abandoned cart and left... can't waste my whole day there. #targetdown #targetoutage pic.twitter.com/IolXjTIjOz— Jeff of The Game Capital & The Poke Capital (@ThePokeCapital) June 15, 2019Every Target register in the country is down! This is crazy. Been on line for 30 minutes!!#targetdown pic.twitter.com/MLPcP6QEng— IceburG?? (@So_Ice_Cold) June 15, 2019Just left target after patiently waiting for an hour or so. Every single person working there is amazing & I honestly feel for them. I just had to take the L. If you’re still there, please be patient with these guys. They are doing their best! #targetdown pic.twitter.com/yBcEYL4Jsx— Elizabeth Matthews (@momof2boys79) June 15, 2019A similar issue hit Target stores in 2014. That outage appeared to be a "glitch" causing delays at checkouts, "but is not in any way related to a security issue." 2951

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public's help to connect dozens of victims to the confessions made by a convicted serial killer.Samuel Little, 79, has confessed to 93 murders to date, according to the FBI, and all of his confessions are believed to be credible. The murders took place between 1970 and 2005 in multiple states across the country. The FBI says Little is the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history. He was arrested in 2012 and extradited to California on a narcotics charge. After his arrest, Little's DNA was connected to three unsolved homicides between 1987 and 1989. He was convicted and sentenced in 2014 to three consecutive life terms without parole. In 2018, Little provided the FBI with detailed information on dozens of additional murders he is believed to have committed across the country, including murders in Illinois, Kentucky and Ohio.Law enforcement have been able to verify 50 of Little's confessions, but that leaves dozens of victims still unnamed and yet to be found. Fifteen of those cases are in the Los Angeles area. The FBI says Little confessed to strangling his victims, although most of their deaths were originally ruled overdoses or accidental. Some bodies have never been found.Little was convicted of two crimes in San Diego in 1984 after he raped and beat two women. Retired Detective Sergeant Wayne Spees was a rookie police officer on patrol just before 5 a.m. that October morning, when he and his partner discovered Little at a vacant lot near Market Street."He comes out of the back seat ... zipping his pants up ... He's insisting that he and his wife were just leaving," said Spees.Wedged inside the car was a prostitute, naked and bloodied. Little had choked her unconscious. Spees arrested him and spent several hours with him at the hospital while evidence was collected."He said, 'I didn't rape that ****. I just kicked the **** out of her. I'm going to kill that whore.' He had no remorse. He was just evil," said Spees.Little served 2-and-a-half years for his San Diego crimes before his release. The FBI has released information and possible sketches of dozens of potential victims in the hopes that someone will remember details that could help them connect the dots.If you have any information linked to Little’s confessions, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit at tip online at tips.fbi.gov. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The man who was armed with a gun when he beat, choked and raped two women in 2016 on consecutive nights was sentenced Tuesday.Jeremiah Ira Williams, 26, was sentenced to 100 years to life, plus 86 year, in state prison after being convicted on May 1 of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation, burglary and making a criminal threat.Deputy District Attorney Trisha Amador told jurors that Williams followed the first victim from a parking structure to her apartment on August 13 of 2016.Jane Doe 1 was afraid when Williams asked her "Where's your husband?" as she approached her front door, the prosecutor said.Williams then knocked her down, robbed her at gunpoint and choked her, Amador said. Once inside, Williams beat the victim before raping her and forcing her to take a shower before he left. The following day, Williams beat and raped a woman working as a prostitute after meeting up with her at a motel in Grantville.Williams got on the bed and asked Jane Doe 2, "Do you want to know what it feels like to die?" He then choked the victim until "she saw stars," then raped and sodomized her, according to Amador, who said the woman was so terrified that she broke a window and jumped through it to get away.Williams’ attorney, Deputy Public Defender Thomas Bahr, told the jury that police had a feeling the two rapes were connected and jumped to conclusions.Bahr alleged that Jane Doe 2 lied throughout the investigation, arguing that her story had inconsistencies. The defense attorney alleged that Jane Doe 2 asked a detective “Can I Sue him (Williams) for beating my (expletive.)” 1616
