SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Funerals will be held next Thursday for two teenagers killed when they mistakenly jumped off a freeway bridge on SR-56 after a crash. 18-year-old Ruben Ortiz Jr. and 17-year-old Jesse Garcia of Escondido were in a 2012 Nissan Altima that went out of control and crashed in Carmel Valley Tuesday night. The teens and four other people got out of the car and ran across eastbound lanes of the freeway. Ortiz and Garcia jumped over the railing, not realizing it was an 80-foot drop into Gonzales Creek. Two girls who had been in the vehicle, 14 and 15 years old, suffered severe injuries and remain in the hospital. “It sat at me and hit me and our community. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Hundreds gathered in Balboa Park to pray for the 50 people killed in the New Zealand terrorist attack and spread the message that hate has no home here.About a dozen speakers shared stories of the victims or hate directed at minorities."It will take all of us to put hate back in it's corner," Sara Hassane, 17, said. "Just pure evil and again it has no place in this world and it's just sad," San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit said. He and more than a dozen of his officers surrounded the event, along with snipers on the roof of nearby buildings, ensuring the crowd felt safe."We have officers out here making sure we don't have a copycat or anyone tries to do anything," he said.Though fear, still permeated the crowd. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — FBI investigators are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect of a College Area bank robbery Wednesday.The suspect walked into Citibank at 5998 El Cajon Blvd. just after 3 p.m., approached a teller, and verbally demanded cash, according to the FBI.After receiving a sum of cash, the suspect fled on foot.The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his late 20s to early 30s, with large build and standing about 5-foot 6-inches. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, sunglasses, gloves, tennis shoes. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Disney officials say they do not believe Disneyland or California Adventure parks will reopen before 2021.During an earnings call on Thursday, Disney Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy said the Anaheim theme park will likely remain close through the end of the fiscal first quarter, which ends in late December."While some of our parks are open with limited capacity, we currently anticipate Disneyland resort will remain closed at least through the end of the fiscal first quarter," McCarthy said.RELATED: San Diego County businesses sue amid rollback in reopening restrictionsMcCarthy added that the company does not have any indication of how long restrictions on theme parks will last.California introduced reopening guidelines for small and large theme parks in October. The county would need to do the same to move into the yellow tier.
