ABU DHABI, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived here on Thursday for a state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the first by a Chinese head of state in 29 years to the Arab state.
He also urged efforts to firmly safeguard China's sovereignty, security and development interests, take an active part in leading the reform of the global governance system, and build a more complete network of global partnerships, so that new advances will be made in major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics to create a favorable environment for, and make due contributions to, building a moderately prosperous society and a great modern socialist country in all aspects.
The meeting stressed that the problems in the property market must be resolved properly in determination. A differentiated approach to property market regulation of different cities should be upheld firmly to promote balanced supply and demand.
More than 338,000 residents and over 157,000 hectares of crops have been affected by heavy rain. More than 300 houses have been destroyed, and a total of 9,307 people have been relocated, according to the local authorities.
The allocation of both available funds and increased investment into education should prioritize the demands of areas of deep poverty and those from needy families, said a statement released after the meeting.
