SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance video shows burglars ransacking a Pacific Beach brewpub hit hard by the pandemic.Just past 6 p.m Thursday, while food and craft beer were being served up at the second-story Amplified Ale Works restaurant, a masked man was recorded while inside the first-floor office and shuttered music venue.A mangled door revealed the intruder's entry point."Looks like he used a crowbar on the back door," said owner Alex Pierson.Inside, he's seen rummaging through drawers, grabbing headphones and some other items before leaving. Pierson says the burglar returned hours later, and he wasn't alone."When they came back at 10:30 p.m., they ransacked everything," said Pierson.For some 40 minutes, three men are seen helping themselves to whatever they wanted, filling up box after box.In one clip, one of the thieves is seen sorting through paperwork. Several blank checks were found missing."It's that feeling of violation. It hurt. Also took several employees' bikes, several guitars, amps, eight cases of beer, merchandise and some other electronics," said Pierson.For Pierson, the burglary is beyond disheartening."We're doing everything we can to keep our employees employed ... a 'being kicked while you're down' feeling," said Pierson.Pierson says the impact of the pandemic has cut revenues for the eight-year-old brewpub in half. The loss from the theft is more than ,000."In the end, it's not going to break us, but we're at such a point of breaking, as it is," said Pierson.Pierson fears others have also felt the hurt. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The mother of a missing San Diego State graduate is offering a ,000 reward to find him.Wesley Billingsly, 24, was last seen in June. A San Diego Police flyer indicated he was prepared to meet friends and never arrived.Billingsly earned a degree in business administration and marketing from SDSU. He traveled to his native Sacramento and earned money for his return to San Diego, his mother Christel told 10News.Christel Billingsley said her son was looking for a job and wanted to save on rent. After June 1, he did not have a permanent address and started couch-surfing at friends’ homes in Pacific Beach.Wesley and his Ford Expedition disappeared June 12. “It’s completely out of character,” said his mother.Christel paid her son’s phone bill and described him as a social media junkie. About two months ago, the phone stopped showing activity.“Everything stopped on June 12. He just vanished off the face of this earth,” Christel said.Christel is employed as a school officer manager in Sacramento and recently returned to her job after summer break. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Summer is almost here, meaning a slew of wild, new entertainment at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.Summer Safari returns to the Safari Park from May 25 to Sept. 1, bringing live music, arts and crafts, pop-up entertainment, up-close animal experiences, and more fun activities for families to enjoy.For the first time, the park will also host "family nights" on days the park is open until 8 p.m. On these nights, Monday and Tuesday from June 10 to July 30, special entertainment is planned, including bubble shows and evening cheetah runs.While Summer Safari is the big draw, guests will also be able to check out the park's new Walkabout Australia exhibit. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The elderly victim of a brutal home invasion in Clairemont last week is relieved two of the three suspects are in custody. John Slobig, 59 and Terry Jones, 53 are due in court Wednesday afternoon in connection with last Wednesday's home invasion in the 4600 block of Firestone Street.Eighty-seven-year-old Paul Schmidt suffered injuries to his head, arms, and wrist during the attack. "I was very grateful for the work that the police did, " said Schmidt. Schmidt said he's lived in the home for fifty-three years and never felt unsafe. "I know that drugs have been so dominant in our society lately that it's a whole different world that we're living in. Things we used to take for granted, you can't anymore," said Schmidt. Schmidt was installing a ceiling fan when he says three men burst through his front door."All of a sudden, these three guys come in and said this is a robbery and he grabbed scissors and walked up to me and said don't mess with us. I didn't want to die that day, and there was three. I'm one guy, I'm 87, I'm not as tough as I used to be," said Schmidt. He tried to pull one of the intruders by his beard, that's when Schmidt says one of the robbers hit him over the head with a ceiling fan blade."The one guy was higher than a kite; the one they have in custody, he was really a terrible person." Police say the trio ransacked the home and took off in the victim's truck, which was recovered. The suspects have lengthy criminal records. They're scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at 1:30 pm. 1551

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Surveillance pictures were released Tuesday of a woman who San Diego Police believe struck a parked car and critically injured her passenger in Lincoln Park.The crash happened just before 5 a.m. on the 500 block of South 47th St.A woman driving a gray 2010 Mazda 3 moved to the right side of the road and struck an unoccupied, parked SUV, police said.The crash caused a 79-year-old man who was in the back seat of the Mazda to be thrown forward, striking the front passenger’s seat. The man was not wearing a seatbelt. Police said he is not expected to survive significant head and neck injuries.A 39-year-old man who was sitting in the back seat of the Mazda suffered minor injuries.Police said the female driver walked away from the scene before officers arrived. She is described as African-American and in her 50s.
